 BRINGING NEW LIFE TO A DEAD HEART

FROM THE MEMOIRS OF HH SHRI BHOLA NATHJI, THE GREAT SPIRITUAL LUMINARY WHO GAVE PEACE AND BEATITUDE TO COUNTLESS FOLK DURING HIS LIFETIME, RELIEVING THEM OF THEIR ILLS AND SORROWS, AND WHOSE WORDS OF LOVE STILL GUIDE US FROM HIS CELESTIAL ABODE IN THE HEAVENS.

There was a time in 1955 when HH Shri Bhola Nathji was in Mussoorie.

There was a very rich man in the city who had a house as big as a castle, and who was looked upon as the epitome of wealth by the people of the city who almost worshiped him.

Shopkeepers would run out from their shops and persuade him to "grace their shops". Everyone would bow low before him and salute him and his wealth.

Youngsters especially wished to emulate his example in life. Money was the goal of everyone's life. Money and money and more money-- everyone was hungry after it, the rich as well as the poor.

One day the rich man came to see HH Shri Bhola Nathji all alone at 8 pm. He bowed before HH Shri Bhola Nathji and began to speak:

"Maharaj! I have heard people praise you everywhere. People say that you have the power to grant whatever a person wishes for. I too have come to ask you for something. Will you grant me my wish?"

HH Shri Bhola Nathji said: "And what might that be?"

The rich man said: "Maharaj! I have come to beg for Death! For three years I have wanted to die. There are so many troubles in my life, so many diseases that I have to live with, so many family problems, so many debts and loans that I have to recover. I cannot sleep in the nights. I dont want to live any more!"

HH Shri Bhola Nathji said: "Sethji, you have come to the wrong place! I do not have Death. If you want Life you can take it!"

AS HH Shri Bhola Nathji began speaking to him a strange peace flooded his heart.

The next morning he phoned and said to HH Shri Bhola Nathji:

" Maharaj! I wish to Live!

"My problems are still very much where they were-- but the peace you have instilled in me does not let me feel any sorrow or misery. I feel like a man without any problems at all.

"The storms of life are raging but I am at Peace! It is your miracle! That one little meeting I had with you wiped away the sorrows of years and years of suffering!"

Indeed this was what everyone felt when they came before the Divine personality of HH Shri Bhola Nathji. A mere glimpse of HH Shri Bhola Nathji was enough to fill them with Peace. This was His miracle.

Years later a retired colonel met me and said to me:

"Just to look upon your father, HH Shri Bhola Nathji, filled me with such internal happiness that I am sure he was God upon earth!"
