When HH Shri Bhola Nathji visited the Colosseum in Rome, Italy, in 1967, he saw the amphitheaters where the Christians

had been thrown to the lions by the cruel Romans of the times directly after the crucifixion of Christ..

It had been a strange sight. Whole families had walked up to the lions and were devoured by them. And yet more and more of these believers came forward to be killed by the lions in the name of Jesus Christ. By 390 A.D. over 400,000 people had been killed in these vast amphitheaters of entertainment of the Romans of the times.

Someone asked HH Shri Bhola Nathji, who was a Hindu,

"If there was divine power in Christ why didn't he come to save them from the lions?"

And HH Shri Bhola Nathji replied:

"He had already saved them. That is why they had the courage to walk up to the lions."

As a result of the sacrifices of those early Christians, today the entire world celebrates Christmas.

It is only through the sacrifices of the Hindus over the centuries that the Hindu Faith is kept alive and every proud Indian can say "Jai Shri Ram!"

A fly and a moth both run towards a beautiful flame - but the fly runs away when the heat of the flame singes its wings while the moth is not afraid but sacrifices itself on the alter of its God.

It is only through sacrifice that a faith is kept alive as seen in all the religions of the world. If the devotees of these faiths had been weak and faint-hearted and had run away when called for sacrifices, then no religion in the world would have flourished in the world as it is doing now.

Thus only TRUE devotees can keep the name of their faith alive, no matter what the faith.

HH Shri Bhola Nathji, though being a Hindu by birth, in the true spirit of Hinduism, respected the beliefs of all faiths.

HH Shri Bhola Nathji used to say:

"Water is that which satiates your thirst. Call it by any name that you like. Drink it in a cup or a glass or a goblet, it will still be water!"
