THE RED LINE BETWEEN YOU AND GOD

THE RED LINE BETWEEN YOU AND GOD
=============================================
From the Thoughts of HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) a Great Spiritual Luminary who gave peace and beatitude to countless folk during his lifetime, relieving them of their sorrows and sufferings ,and whose words guide humanity even today.
=============================================

Those who believe in God have a greater responsibility to obey the laws of God than those who do not believe in Him.
Such devotees already know what His Laws are and even hear His Voice speak to them in their hearts, as a special favour bestowed upon them by God.
And then one day they are faced with a difficult choice.
On the one side is the Will of God which their heart knows, and on the other side is the world of relatives and friends and colleagues and astrologers and even pandits.
Your inner voice tells you that you must obey God, but you are afraid of the world, afraid of your relatives, friends and colleagues and astrologers and pandits.
The world and its people are visible and there to castigate you if you do not bow down to their wishes, while God is Invisible.
So in your foolishness and fear you draw a RED LINE between yourself and God. And you say to HIM:
"O Lord! I can obey you only up to here, and not beyond that!"
And you follow the desires of the world, not even caring whether you have displeased God, hoping that He will forgive you anyway.
But you forget the Law of Karma which keeps a watch on all, and especially on the devotees and which does not spare anyone, and whose justice is:
"You shall reap what you sow".
A day comes when you find yourself suddenly stricken by calamities like incurable diseases, miseries and troubles of life, and your friends, relatives and the world you tried to please, stand helplessly by, suffering along with you, in agony themselves. No one can help you. And this is more so at the time of death.
At such moments you are spontaneously reminded of God and His Laws which you broke and the Red LIne you drew between Him and yourself.
You try to reach out to Him across the Red Line and pray to Him to get you out of your misery, but your voice cannot penetrate the Red Line of disobedience which has now turned into a Wall of Separation, between you and God, -- and your prayers do not reach Him. And you must undergo the agonies of life and death and re-birth just like the rest of the world.
He who believes and disobeys is in a much worse position than the person who does not believe at all.
Therefore be very careful when you decide to draw a RED LINE between you and your God. It might be a RED LINE of the miseries to come, when He will not be by your side.
HH Shri Nathji used to say:
"Either believe in God absolutely and completely,
Or else do not believe in Him at all--
But the middle path of believing and not believing in Him at the same time, cannot be called true devotion."
