LOVE THE POOR IF YOU WISH TO PLEASE GOD

While it is easy to be lost in complex spiritual philosophies, chantings and meditations, and spiritual and material means to attain peace and happiness in the world, there is a much simpler way which most of us have forgotten

While it is easy to be lost in complex spiritual philosophies, chantings and meditations, and spiritual and material means to attain peace and happiness in the world, there is a much simpler way which most of us have forgotten
The basic
question will always be: are you pleasing God simply by pleasing
yourself ? Everything you do in life is for yourself and those close to
you. Your prayers to God and worship of God are also for your own
selves.
But there is a much simpler way of pleasing God and attaining peace and happiness in the world -- and that is by giving your love to the poor and helping them in whatever way you can.
Remember whenever you turn away from a poor person in need, God will turn away from you. He will not answer your prayers when you are in need.
When you look upon the poor think of them as little children incapable of helping themselves, people who simply die in the streets because they cannot afford medical aid and who do not even know what is happening to them.
Thank God He has not made you poor, and thank God that He has given you means to serve them. And then try to help them in whatever way you can - and if you have nothing else, at least give them your love, at least speak in a kindly manner to them.
If you do not help the poor in this life then remember that the Law of Karma is watching and it will make you poor in your next life.
If all the rich persons were to help the poor, then perhaps poverty would cease to be such a curse upon the planet earth. There is so much that the rich have to give to the poor, so much that they can curtail from their wealth and luxury.
So the next time you pray to God, remember He is watching how you have been behaving with his children upon earth, and He will only answer your prayers for good health, success, prosperity and peace if you have played your part well in loving the poor.
Otherwise do not be surprised if you find Him to be silent when you are in need and call out to Him.
