THE HANDS OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT

THE HANDS OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT
==================================
To those who have made money into their God, here is an episode that might make them change their way of thinking.
Alexander the Great had wished to conquer the whole world so that he would be in possession of the greatest amount of wealth and power anyone was capable of.
But Alas! The fates willed otherwise, and he lay dying on his deathbed from an intractable fever when he was barely in his 30's.
Just before he died he called his family and courtiers and ministers around him and said to them:
"When you take out my funeral procession through the streets, and multitudes are gathered there to catch a last glimpse of their Emperor, then do one thing --
"Cover my entire body with a white sheet, but let my hands hang outwards, one on either side of my body, so that when the people of the world look upon them, they may learn that the hands of Alexander the Great, which sought to possess the wealth of the whole world, are today going away empty!"
So we must ask those whose goal in life is simply the collection of wealth by any means whatsoever:
"If Alexander the Great left the world with empty hands, please tell us how much you will take with you!"
Perhaps at some stage in life their eyes might open to the glaring truth that you cannot even take a penny with you when you go from the earth.
What you take with you are the fruits of your good actions, love, righteousness, compassion, kindness and selflessness, and of course Faith in God. These are the certificates you need for admission into the Kingdom of God after death.
