THE REAL MEANING OF THE WORD "MAN" == "ADAMI

THE REAL MEANING OF THE WORD "MAN" == "ADAMI"
From the Thoughts of HH Shri Bhola Nathji, a Great Spiritual Luminary whose words and pictures still bring light to humanity.
================================================
We use the word "Adami" when we refer to "man" in Hindi and Urdu . But it is basically based on the Persian language.
"AA" in Persian means "ONE".
"DAMI" in Persian means "HE WHO TAKES A BREATH"
So the word "ADAMI" literally interpreted means:
"HE WHO TAKES ONE BREATH".
But you will say: a man takes many breaths every day and night.
That may be true but YOU CAN TAKE ONLY ONE BREATH AT A TIME. TRY TAKING TWO BREATHS AT THE SAME TIME-- YOU CANNOT DO IT.
So all man has with himself is that One Breath which goes no sooner than it comes.
When the seconds and minutes and hours of the clock tick away, -- they are telling you that your breaths are passing away, your life is passing away, each and every second.
The time of life is very short. The past has gone, You cannot bring it back. The future has not come. You cannot force it to come before its time. All you have with you is the present.
But just say " I exist in the present!" and it already becomes the past even as you utter these words.
Time is like a flowing river, or like a candle that is burning itself out slowly. You do not exist even in one moment of it-- because it goes the moment you even think of it.
It is not time, it is your breaths that are passing away, it is your life that is passing away.
It is written in the Hindu Scriptures:
"Ek ek shaansaan jaat hai,
Tai Triloki mool"
"The worth of a single breath that is passing away is equal to that of the three worlds put together."
How precious are these breaths of life which man fritters away like someone throwing precious diamonds in the skies to scare away the crows.
MAKE HASTE THEREFORE AND SECURE GOD BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE AND THAT LAST BREATH OF LIFE COMES BEFORE THEE.
