Though people saw God in Him he called himself, The Servant of the Earth and would say:
" I have no mission except Love in this world,
My mission is Love and my work is Love. "

HH Shri Bhola Nathji often used to say that since Lord Rama was God Himself, with invincible strength, it was easy for Him to vanquish The Evil King Ravana.
But His Real victory lay elsewhere-- in being able to instill such Faith in his devotees' hearts, which could not be overwhelmed by the temptations of the world.
Hanuman was a staunch devotee of Lord Rama, but his life with Lord Rama was filled with physical hardships like the life of an ascetic. He lived in the forests with Lord Rama in grass huts, eating whatever little food they could find, because Lord Rama had chosen this life of banishment from his own kingdom.
The day came when Hanuman had to be sent by Lord Rama as His emissary to the Court of the Evil King Ravana, who lived in a city of gold, and had the greatest luxuries of life surrounding him all the time.
The contrast was beyond measure-- the life of physical hardships with Lord Rama in a straw hut, and the gold and luxuries of King Ravana.
Anyone would have been dazzled at the sight of such wealth.
Yet the sight of so much material wealth had no effect on Hanuman. He would have cast aside anyone who made a suggestion that he change sides and come over to Ravana as his Minister. The temptations of the world of Ravana did not make Hanuman lose faith in his Master, Lord Rama.
He followed his Master's instructions and returned to Lord Rama, so that they could prepare for battle against Ravana.
This is a phase where many, or nearly all the devotees of God, fall on the path of devotion. Whenever they see the hardships that they are called upon to endure on the path of God, and compare these with the temptations of wealth and luxury which the world has to offer -- they at once throw aside the path of God and devotion and rush towards the world of materialism
And whenever they do this, they are falling on the path of devotion and are unfaithful and untrue towards Lord Rama Himself.
HH Shri Bhola Nathji used to say:
"Lord Rama destroyed the personification of evil, Ravana, but, sadly, Ravana is still alive in the hearts of many!"
