WHY DO SORROWS COME TO US?

What is sorrow?
Whenever we do not get what we desire, there is sorrow.
Or whenever we get what we do not desire, there is sorrow.
And what if we desire nothing? There is no sorrow!
But how can it be possible that we give up all desires?
It is possible only if God enters our hearts and effaces all desires there. We are then possessed with the desire for God alone and all desires of the world become meaningless.
But if we give up all desires how will we live?
Do we live because of our desires only?
When you breathe you do so spontaneously without your desire. When you open your eyes you see the world around you spontaneously without your desire. Your heart beats, day and night without a moment's relaxation, without your desire. The blood in your body circulates through miles and miles of arteries and veins without your desire. Your body works without your desire.
What you call "Life" exists without your desire.
The planets, sun and moon, the stars, galaxies, and clusters of galaxies fly with terrific speeds without your desire.
The laws of Science work without your desire, The Universe was born and shall die one day without your desire.
You grow up without your desire. You live and die without your desire. You are not born into the world because of your desire. Neither do you leave it because of your desire.
The entire Universe is running in accordance with the Will or the Desire of God. You are but a very, very infinitesimally small part of that Universe, also running in accordance with His Desire.
What a wonderful thing it would be if you could deliver your desires into the hands of God who is the maker and breaker of all desires and let Him write your destiny, rather than try to push your puny will against His Almighty Will.
If you can learn to be happy in His Will then nothing in the world will go against your will and sorrow shall cease to exist for as long as you are alive in the world.
Your life itself will be filled with so much peace that you will cease to desire even Heaven.
