Here are some simple steps to enlightenment which can make your life easier.
1. Look at the history of the world. What is history? It is the names of those millions and billions of people who have come into this world and gone away.
2. So if all those millions and billions of people all went away then we are going to go away as well.
3.Remember Death which is the inevitable end of life, the end of the journey of life.
4.Why have we come into this world? Only to go away.
5. Think of this life like a journey in a train. You know you boarded the train only to get off, and not to remain inside the train forever.
6. Sadly people have begun to think of this journey as their home, and everything in it as permanent. If only people will look upon the train as a temporary sojourn then their entire outlook in life will change.
7. They will know that whatever comes, comes only to go away, and therefore the shock of inevitably losing loved ones, your fellow passengers in the train, will be a little less, the cares about losing and gaining, profit and loss will all be less-- it was all to go away in any case.
8. You don't care about the comforts or discomforts of a journey if you know your home is going to be beautiful.
9. Concentrate upon making your home beautiful in this journey of life. Do this through your acts of goodness, righteousness, love, humility and service to mankind and indeed to all living creatures.
10. Make a companion in this journey of life who will not only make your journey comfortable but who will also be with you when you get off the train. And it will be to His home that you will go. Such a companion is God, and God alone.
