There was a time in the 1930's when HH Shri Bhola Nathji was sitting on a bench waiting for a train at Haridwar Railway Station. A gentleman accosted him and said to him:

"Sir! May I know your name?. I just heard you giving a lecture and it was beautiful!"
Shri Nathji said: "My Dear friend! I do not know my name!"
The man was startled: "How can that be?"
Shri Nathji: "And what is more, you don't know your name either!"
The man said: "I do know my name,. It is Jaswant Singh!"
Shri Nathji said: " You are holding a stick in your hand. Can we call the stick Jaswant Singh? No it is not you, it is your stick!
That suit you are wearing? Can we call the suit Jaswant Singh? No it is not you, it is your suit! Then who are you calling Jaswant Singh?"
Jaswant Singh: "My body is named Jaswant Singh!"
And Shri Nathji said: "Who is saying that 'my body is named Jaswant Singh?' What is his name?"
"In truth, neither you nor I know!"
Jaswant Singh found Shri Nathji's argument very impressive and said:
"Sir, tell me of a short way of attaining peace in this world!"
And Shri Nathji said: "Consider everything as temporary in this world and your relationship with everything as also temporary! That way you will not be affected by its sorrows and joys, its profits and losses!"
