"Time flies, one thing is certain,
And the rest is lies,
The flower that once didst bloom,
Forever dies!"
But it is not time that is flying past, it is your life. The tick tock sound of the clock is really the sound of the beating of your heart. Every heart beat that goes, is gone forever.
"O ignorant man! The doleful sound of the clock warns thee again and again,
That another moment of thy life is gone forever!"
"O man! Thou has come into this world like a flash of lightning,
Beware lest transient life deceive thee!"
Yes your existence upon earth is as short-lived as that of a lightning flash.
Your past has gone, you cannot bring it back. Your future has not come. You cannot force it to come before its time.
You have only this one moment of time before you which you call the "present", and which is shorter than even the flash of lightning.The present becomes the past even as you say: "This is the present!"
We exist in a flowing river of time. The river of no return.
Our life is like the candle that burns away the existence of its life.
The time passes away, but what we have done in that time remains forever. The seed disappears but the tree appears before you. Your karma goes away but its results remain always with you.
Wake up, therefore, and devote as much of your time to God's work as you can!
In fact, live in the world keeping God with yourself all the time, so that when you leave this world you will go to His Eternal Home.
If you do not believe in God then spend your time in righteousness, truth, universal love and the service of others. And thus indirectly it will be offered to God.
Remember that each and every moment of Time considers itself Blessed if it is offered to God!
