It is not for you to be discouraged; no matter what time may bring, it is for you to pass through it with a smile.

For the very thorns that do trouble you today, herald the approach of flowers; the dark night is a forerunner of the coming moon.

The trials and tribulations with which you are possessed are for your own betterment.

The unfulfilled desires that do haunt you are a prelude to the coming of something far better than you desired.

The seed that is sown, cannot, in an instant, spring forth as a flower.

It needs must go through all the stages Nature has set for it before it can emerge as a flower beautified by the presence of leaves.

"I COMMAND ALL OF NATURE, I COMMAND THE SKIES AND THE OCEANS, I COMMAND THE EARTH AND EACH AND EVERY PARTICLE UPON THE EARTH THAT THEY SHALL HAVE TO PROTECT EACH AND EVERY HAIR OF PARAM PUJYA SHRI PRIYA NATHJI! THIS IS MY ORDER !! MY COMMANDMENT!"

One day on the 23rd of June 1976 when my father, His Holiness Shri Bhola Nathji and I were together in his room, after his birthday celebrations were over, my father whom I affectionately called "PITIJI" made me sit upon his armchair and placed his arm above my head.

He would always lovingly call me " PIYAJI."

Somehow I did not like what he had done. Perhaps he was thinking of leaving the world, and making me his successor after him.

But the very thought of his leaving the world was anathema to me and I naturally protested, but he merely smiled and blessed me saying:

"Priyaji! After all, this body cannot be kept forever!"

AS Time progressed he never lost an opportunity to tell the people who came before him:

"PRIYAJI IS THE DOOR THROUGH WHICH PEOPLE CAN COME TO ME.

"I CANNOT GIVE ANYTHING TO ANYONE DIRECTLY!"

"HE AND I ARE ONE SOUL.

"WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ONE AND SHALL ALWAYS REMAIN ONE!"

" I HAVE TRANSFERRED ALL MY POWERS TO HIM!"

"STAND ALWAYS BY HIS SIDE, IF YOU WISH TO PLEASE ME!"

"IF EVER I SHOULD BECOME ANGRY WITH ANYONE i WILL FORGIVE HIM IF PRIYAJI ASKS ME TO!

"BUT I SHALL NEVER FORGIVE ANYONE WHO HURTS PRIYA NATHJI IN ANY WAY!"

" HE IS A DOOR-- A DOOR WHICH IS ALWAYS OPEN!"

"HE HAS NO GUILE OR PRETENSE IN HIM,

"HE IS INNOCENCE PERSONIFIED.

"HE HAS LOVE AND ONLY LOVE WITHIN HIM FOR EVERYONE.

"THAT IS WHY HIS NAME IS PRIYA NATH -- THE BELOVED OF NATH"

GURU PURNIMA IN INDIA

HH SHRI BHOLA NATHJI ON GURU PURNIMA 1987.

"GOD IS THE GREATEST GURU, SEEK HIS BLESSINGS."

The word Guru is composed of two parts: "GU + RU"

GU means darkness and RU means the remover of darkness.

Thus a Guru is one who removes darkness.

Lord Shiva is thought of as the first Guru.

Lord Buddha is also thought of as the great Guru.

And Vyasa is also thought of as the prime Guru.

Indeed you will get many gurus who will claim to fulfil all your worldly desires -- but from where will you find a Guru who enters your heart and takes away all your desires!

In Calcutta. a Parsee devotee of HH Shri Bhola Nathji Bhagwan used to say to him:

" SIRE! PEOPLE HAVE GURUS WHO CLAIM TO TAKE THEM TO GOD. BUT I HAVE A GURU WHO IS GOD HIMSELF -- YOU!"

There can be only one such Guru, upon setting eyes on whom, all desires disappear from within your heart and only God remains within.

Such a Guru Can Be God alone!!

But how can you find Him? Lucky are those who have found Him, but for those who have not, the advice is:

"Stop searching for HIm.

Instead, evolve a strong DESIRE for HIM and then HE will come to you of Himself.

He will come to you within your heart filling it with Peace.

AA+RAM ==AARAAM

KHUD+ AA === KHUDAA i.e.. " O GOD, COME BY THYSELF"

BUT YOUR HEART MUST BE PURE.

IT MUST GENUINELY HAVE A DESIRE FOR HIM, FOR HIS OWN SAKE, NOT FOR THE THINGS OF THE WORLD

FOR IF YOU DESIRE THE THINGS OF THE WORLD ONLY, THEN YOU WILL NEVER FIND THE REAL MASTER BUT FIND ONLY FAKE GURUS WHO WILL CLAIM TO FULFIL ALL YOUR WISHES.

THE LAW OF KARMA NEVER FORGETS OR FORGIVES:

His Holiness, Shri BHola Nathji, a Great Spiritual Luminary used to quote this Ancient Persian saying:

" Az mafaakaate amal ghaafil ma shau,

Gandam az gandam baroyed, jau za jau"

"Be not ignorant of the laws of Karma,

If you sow wheat you will reap wheat,

If you sow Barley you will seap Barley"

Then again in the words of HH Shri Bhola Nathji Bhagwan:

" You must reap what you sow, they say,

And every cause must bring its sure effect,

Good-- good, and bad--bad,

And no one escapes the Law!"

If you hurl a stone high up in the sky it will appear as if it has gone forever. But it will come back one day and strike you on your own head with as great a force as the force with which you had hurled it upwards.

When you commit a wrong and then nothing happens to you, you say to yourself:

"Ha! Nothing happened to me after all!"

It is like the stone thrown up which shall fall back on you one day, and then you will be shocked and wonder where it came from, and it will instantly remind you of the wrong you had committed.

But of one thing be sure, that God may forgive, but the Law of Karma never forgives, and it is His Creation of cause and effect also known as the Law of Nemesis which takes one to the path of the repeated births and deaths of man,known as the Bhav Saagar,

CAN YOU DECEIVE GOD?

A person can tell a lie before his friends and relatives and even enemies, he can even tell a lie on oath in an affidavit, and deceive people, but there is one place where you can never tell a lie -- the moment you do so, you will be caught.

And that is before yourself! You can never lie to yourself. If you are sitting in New Delhi and tell yourself that you are sitting in New York, will you believe yourself?

Something within you will tell you that you are lying. You will tell yourself that you are lying.

Therefore when you cannot lie to yourself, then how can you lie before God who is sitting inside you as your own Conscience and keeping a watch on all your actions-- gently telling you that you are doing wrong. Who is the life within you, the Soul of your soul.

Whenever you do something wrong, there is something within you that instinctively tells you that you have done wrong. And that Conscience is God Himself, viewing all your thoughts and actions.

God has given you this freedom to listen to your conscience before you perform any action.

But man must not overstep his limitations

For once you have performed your action, it becomes permanent in time, and lays you open to the inexorable law of Karma- which punishes or rewards according to the action.

You cannot deceive God by praying or bowing before Him, or by trying to show how pious you are, when He knows deep down in your heart whether you are really pious or not.

"Kabhi Qaaba roo jo kharraa huaa to haram se aane lagi sadaa

Teraa dil to hai sanam aashanaa tujhe kyaa milegaa namaaz men"

"As I stood before the Holy Place of worship, a Voice came from within,

'Your Heart is full of desires of the world, what will you gain from prayer?"

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF GOD GOES ON A STRIKE?

Every country recognises the free will of its citizens to go on a strike as a measure of protest when they are called upon to work in unacceptable situations.

So if ordinary human beings have this right-- why cannot the Almighty God have this right to protest when He is called upon to do His work in a thankless, incorrigible world, that refuses to change despite His Laws being written down on the hearts of people as their own Consciences?

And what would happen if He did go on a "Strike"?

Here are some of the things that would happen:

1. He would stop listening to the prayers of humanity.

2. He would allow the forces of Nature to run rampant-- there would be earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, oceans in storm, thunderstorms, tornadoes, volcanoes in spate, etc. etc.

3. Then again he could shut off the force of Gravity that keeps you tied to the earth, and you would find yourself shooting off into space like so many rockets in outer space.

4. He could make the moon fall upon the earth, and if He were really in a bad mood He would let the Sun fall down and burn everything to ashes.

5. He could make our galaxy of over 100,000 billion stars collide with the Andromeda Galaxy, leading to untold chaos and destruction.

6. He could let the galaxies with billions of stars run rampant and crash into one another so that the sky would be as bright as a whole day even in the night...

7. He could let all the galaxies and stars as well as the earth fall into a Black Hole in space and simply disappear into oblivion.

8. Or He could cause the expanding Universe of which we are a part, fall back upon itself .. and squeeze itself into a little pin-point of energy , which would trigger off another Big Bang and a new Creation, in which perhaps the humans would behave better.

9. So never belittle the powers of God or ignore Him or make fun of Him. He is infinite patience personified, but he can perform the Shiva Tandav Dance of Destruction as well.

10. The real worship of God lies in obeying His simple Laws laid down on your conscience, laws of righteousness, goodness, honesty, and love, faith and service and peace. And if you can do these small things for Him there will be no reason for God to go on a Strike. If you follow your duties He shall not abdicate from His responsibilities towards you or the Universe.
