WHAT IS REAL ENLIGHTENMENT?

Real enlightenment is not to start equating yourself with God, but rather to realize that you are ZERO without God.
In fact everything is ZERO without God.
Everything in the Universe takes the shape of a zero.
The earth is round, the sun, moon and stars are round, the galaxies are more or less round, and the entire universe itself appears to circle back upon itself and appears round.
The pupil of the eye through which you see the Universe is round like a zero.. a zero seen through a zero.
Even a straight line is a string of dots attaching themselves to become a line-- a string of zeroes!
In a real sense when death comes to man he discovers that he was in fact a zero all the time. Even the great conquerors, kings and emperors, empires and kingdoms have over the centuries turned into dust or changed completely and were thus a string of zeroes in space and time.
Man becomes a zero even before a minor ailment like a cold when he cannot get rid of it. He becomes like a zero even before a red traffic light, when he is forced to stop. He becomes like a zero before his office bosses. Whenever he cannot assert his own will he becomes a Zero.
What is his ego= his false "I" his bodily "I"?
Simply this:
"I can do this! I can do that! I have done this! I have done that!"
And it all ends at the time of death when the same bodily "I" cannot even say: "I am dead!"
Man is like a ZERO and God is like ONE.
When ZERO comes before ONE and surrenders itself by confessing:
"I am ZERO!"
ONE says to it " Now that you have come before me you are no longer ZERO, you have become TEN!"
1 + 0 == 10
This is the relationship of man with God. It is only when man surrenders himself completely before God, acknowledging his own nothingness, that he comes under the refuge of God, and the strength of God protects him and becomes his strength!
This is real enlightenment.
But one has to exercise caution here as well. If ZERO begins to think of itself as TEN and feels that ZERO itself is all-powerful and its ego begins to assert itself and it says "I am God," and leaves ONE, it becomes a ZERO once again.

DO NOT THINK OF YOUR OWN MISERY

==================================================
From the Biography of my Father HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) a Great Spiritual Luminary of his time who gave peace and beatitude to countless folk, relieving them of their ills and sorrows.
==================================================

When HH Shri Bhola Nathji had a life threatening injury in his arm in 1943, with no medical aid in the hills, and doctors had thought that the sepsis, poison of the wound, would spread in his entire body thus taking his life, this is The Urdu Verse he had placed outside his bedroom for all the visitors to read:
"Shukriya shewa hai mera jiss men main masroof hoon
Shikvaa haaye gham sunaane ki mujhe fursat naheen"

"The Giving of thanks has absorbed me so,
That to complain of sorrows I have no time!"
The sheer tranquility and peace on his face in a photo of his taken in 1943 attached here, shows the state of his absorption in the Divine.
At this time there was an unearthly glow on his face and all who came to him saw God in him, and found themselves filled with a peace and love they had never felt before in their lives which relieved them of their ills and sorrows...
====================================================
Do not think of your own misery because there is greater misery than yours in the world. Do not think of your own troubles because there are greater troubles than yours in the world.
If you wish to lessen your misery or make it disappear altogether just cast a glance at the millions in the world who are in greater misery than you.
Once God gave a chance to all humans to bring their troubles in bags along with them and to place the bags of troubles before Him so that He could decide how to mitigate the troubles, or how to help the people.
But before He did that, he made an announcement:
"Stay! Before you show me the bags of your own troubles, stop for a while and look inside the bags of all the others gathered here before me! Then let me know whether you would wish to exchange your troubles with theirs. You can then take their troubles and they will take yours!"
There was a clamor and a rush as people began to look inside the bags of troubles of the other folk gathered before God.
What they saw shocked them and horrified them beyond measure!
And they all said to God:
"O Lord! Sorry for bothering Thee! When we looked inside the bags of others we found there troubles far greater than ours!
"We have decided to keep our own troubles and be thankful that we are not as worse off as the rest!"
There was a man who was barefooted and he had always complained to God about not getting him any shoes despite his prayers.
Then he saw a long line of people gathered before God, all of whom had no feet, and they were praying to God to give them feet.
All of a sudden the man without shoes forgot his own misery and thanked God for at least giving him legs and feet.
This is a lesson to all of us to not to ignore the misery of others in the world when we think of the miseries that afflict us...rather let us pray to God to lessen the misery of others less fortunate than us..this will please God and he will remove our troubles in return....

THE REVOLVER ATTACK ON HH SHRI NATHJI

Whenever Godly Souls or Divine Beings come upon the planet earth to spread righteousness, love and peace, the powers of evil, the powers of Satan, cannot bear it, and do their best to destroy such personalities.
The powers of evil know that they cannot harm the souls of such godly folk, so they make the bodies of these godly souls, which are vulnerable, a target of their onslaughts.
The Advent of HH Shri Bhola Nathji on the planet earth was more than the forces of evil could bear. They had to blow out his light at all costs.
HH Shri Nathji had no enemies in the world, because his overpowering love turned even foes into friends, and indeed he loved his enemies as well, if any.
It was the 9th of August 1949. HH Shri Bhola Nathji was living in the Himalayas with his wife, Mahamateshwari and two children. Mahamateshwari had gone to leave the children to their school.
HH Shri Nathjj was in his room upstairs when the servant came and informed him that ten people had come to seek his blessings.
As was his wont, HH Shri Nathji dressed hastily so as not to keep the visitors waiting, and came downstairs, and outside the verandah of his home.
As he saw the ten people come towards him, he divined that they had evil intentions.
Although HH Shri Nathji was the politest and humblest of all folk in the world, yet he was as brave as a lion. People who thought his humility was a sign of his weakness were in for a surprise.
Suddenly with a voice like that of thunder from the heavens, that appeared to reverberate in the mountains and the skies, HH Shri Nathji said:
"KHABARDAAR! NO ONE DARE ADVANCE!"
All the ten folk halted in their tracks as if paralyzed by the awesome voice.
But their leader advanced towards Shri Nathji and said:
"You have paralysed my men! But I am enough all alone!"
And saying this he took out a revolver from his pocket and came to Shri Nathji and placed the revolver on his chest, saying,
"I can shoot you!"
HH Shri Nathji said to him:
"If you dont like good things to exist in this world, then go ahead and shoot!
"But let me tell you, that the revolver is in your hands, but your hand is in the hands of God!
"If it is His Will that I must live more in this world to do His work, then you cannot fire your revolver.
"But if it is His Will that my work on earth is over - then go ahead and shoot!"
The man's hand began to tremble. He could not bear to look at
HH Shri Nathji in the eyes, and sought to go behind him.
But HH Shri Nathji turned around along with him keeping his eyes fixed on him.
Just then Mahamateshwari appeared on the slope leading to the house and said loudly:
"Nathji! What is happening there?"
HH Shri Nathji who always gave the highest of respect to Mahamateshwari, made as if he were a child and said to her:
"Mataji! O Divine Mother! These people have come to shoot me!"
With a cry that was so loud that it caused the public on the Mall Road below to look up at the hill, Mahamateshwari ran up the slope towards the house.
Suddenly the assailants panicked! They were gripped by an indefinable fear and ran from the premesis, leaping over the gate and disappearing into the mountains.
Shri Nathji would ever afterwards call Mahamateshwari:
"Mushkil kushaa - the remover of all troubles!"
Later a meeting was held in the prestigious Savoy Hotel of the town where the people of the city prayed to HH Shri Nathji to file a police complaint against the would-be assailants.
But Shri Nathji forgave them all, and there the matter ended.
People rushed from various parts of India when they heard of the incident and burst out into tears when they saw HH Shri Nathji. They continued to weep even when they knew he was all right. They could not bear the thought of anything happening to their dearest and most loving Nathji, who loved everyone even more than his own self.
But it was a warning that the powers of evil were still alive in the world and that the agents of Satan stalked the righteous folk who lived in the world, so that righteousness would not spread.
It was also a warning to the powers of evil that the power of God was mightier than they had imagined and was alert to their wicked designs.
In the picture attached we see HH Shri Nathji standing outside the verandah of the old house in which he lived, along with Mahamateshwari and Priya Nath. This was the exact spot where the incident took place in 1949..

HH SHRI NATHJI ATTACKED BY A BULL 1947

The Day of Karvachauth in India
It was the day of Karvachauth in India. The Day when all devout Hindu wives pray for the welfare, safety and long life of their husbands. Not only do they pray but they also fast for the whole day and take a glass of water only at night when the full moon comes out.
My Mother, Mahamateshwari Savitri Devi, was observing the Fast of Karvachauth,on that day, like all other Hindu wives, for the safety and well being and long life of her husband, HH Shri Bhola Nathji.
HH Shri Bhola Nathji happened to be in Agra on that occasion.
(Here he is seen standing in front of the Taj Mahal.)
While on a morning walk, HH Shri Nathji suddenly found himself in a lonely, narrow street that came to a dead end with a brick Wall constructed there. He turned around to go back, when he saw a sight that would have unnerved the bravest of men.
There was a crazed bull with its horns extended and down, charging with great speed, in his direction, while he stood with his back to the wall.
But HH Shri Nathji was not unnerved, in fact he was not even afraid. The feeling of fear simply did not exist for him.
He stood his ground and waited patiently for the bull to come to him.
The bull came close to him, almost within inches, and then all of a sudden something happened to the bull. It slid down docilely on the ground at the feet of HH Shri Nathji and sat there, as if asleep.
HH Shri Nathji blessed the bull and walked away and came back home.
Although people who knew him regarded this as another instance of his godliness and divine power, HH Shri Nathji, who never took any credit for anything, simply observed:
"I was saved today because of the Fast of Karvachauth which Mahamateshwari was observing for my welfare and long life!"
(The pictures I have shown here are intended to illustrate the situation and are not of the actual incident as no camera was available at that time, and no cameraman present.)

A TALE OF TWO SUFI MYSTICS

As narrated by HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) a great spiritual luminary of his time, whose message was that of Divine Love, and who was revered by people of all faiths. Considered the living epitome of Sufism and an equally great exponent of the Hindu Vendanta, given the title of Vedanta Bhushan, HH Shri Bhola Nathji often narrated stories of the great mystics of the past.
===================================================
Shams Tabrez (1185–1248) and Maulana Rumi (1207 – 1273)
The tale dealt with these two renowned Sufis of their time who lived in ancient Persia. Sufis were a sect of Muslims who believed in pure spiritual truths cutting across boundaries of race and religion; and Divine Love was their mainstay of philosophy.
Shams Tabrez was an enlightened soul, but illiterate and unsophisticated, and Maulana Rumi one of the most learned of philosophers and poets of his time, who had written hundreds of books in Persian poetry on spiritual philosophy
One Day,Shams Tabrez followed him into his house. The place was filled with hundreds of books on religion and philosophy.
"What is all this?" Shams Tabrez asked, pointing to the books.
"This is that, of which you know nothing!" said Maulana Rumi to the illiterate Shams Tabrez.
Suddenly Shams Tabrez picked up as many books as he could, and threw them into a tank of water below the house.
"What have you done, Shams!" the startled Maulana asked, "These are handwritten and may never be written again! They are not available anywhere else!"
Maulana Rumi called out to his servants and asked them to save whatever they could, of the books.
"So this is all that you call knowledge!" said Shams Tabrez, "if these books are gone you have nothing left! Wait! There is no need to call the servants! I will bring them out for you!"
And saying this, Shams Tabrez turned towards the water tank, and said: "Books! Come out!"
And much to the astonishment of Maulana Rumi, the books came flying out of the tank and landed high and dry in his library, with not a single word obliterated.
"What strange power is this!" said the amazed Maulana Rumi.
"This is that, of which you know nothing!" said Shams Tabrez.
And saying this Shams Tabrez left Maulana Rumi’s house.
A spiritual transformation came over the Maulana. A spiritual quest developed within him. He had to know of the divine secrets known to Shams Tabrez. He searched the city until he found Shams Tabrez sitting alone in a graveyard.
He begged to be made his disciple and be given enlightenment.
But spiritual attainment had tests of its own.
Shams Tabrez said to Maulana Rumi:
"All right, then, if you wish to become my disciple and serve me, then bring two bottles of wine for me!"
The Maulana was struck dumb. It was he who had passed the fatwaa, the edict, in the city, banning wine. Hundreds had been sent to prison by him for disobeying his law of prohibition. But it was a spiritual test for him. His Master, Murshid, was trying to test his spirit of sacrifice.
Undeterred by the fact that the man he had accepted as his Murshid wanted wine, he went out in search of it, and procured it from an illegal wine-making shop. He hid the bottles in his cloak and proceeded on his way.
He had hoped to please both, man and God. No one would know he was carrying wine, and his Murshid would be pleased to know he had carried out his orders.
But the fates decreed otherwise.
In a crowded thoroughfare, at the cross-roads, the bottles slipped from his cloak and shattered to pieces on the ground.
The public gathered around him: "Take the culprit to Maulana Rumi!" they said.
Their astonishment knew no bounds when they discovered that the man they had caught was none other than Maulana Rumi himself!
Maulana Rumi was disgusted with himself. He had tried to deceive God. He returned to the wine-shop and purchased two more bottles and carried them in the streets in full public view.
Word reached the King-the Baadshaah, that Maulana Rumi had taken to drink. The king was puzzled, but took no action.
And it was thus, that Maulana Rumi passed the spiritual test laid out for him by his Murshid.
He had to sacrifice all notions of honour or dishonour, name and fame. He had to crush his ego to nothingness, and rise above himself to serve his Murshid with a Spirit of Sacrifice. And once he had done this, God realisation, or enlightenment was his. Pure intellectual knowledge had not been enough.
Persian:
Baa yaar kase dast dar aagosh na kard
Taa tarke zaro seemo dilo hosh na kard

Thou canst not embrace the Beloved with thy hands,
Until thou hast sacrificed thy gold, thy silver, and thy heart.
And Maulana Rumi said in Persian:
"Shumaa eemaan nigaah daared mohkam ai Mussalmaanaa
Ke maulaanaye Rumi khud Mussalmaan boodo kaafir shud

"O thou orthodox believers! Remain thou in thy rites and rituals!
Maulana Rumi was a Muslim too, until he became an unbeliever!"
"Maulaanaa taa maulaaye Rum na shud
Taa ghulaame aastaane Shams Tabrezi na shud"

"Maulaana Rumi became not a Maulaanaa-a Great One-
Until he became the slave of Shams Tabrez."
When Maulana Rumi came before Shams Tabrez with the two bottles of wine in his hands, Shams Tabrez was pleased. His disciple-mureed-had passed the test.
He took the bottles from Maulana Rumi and dashed them to pieces on the ground, one on either side of Maulana Rumi, and he said:
"The first one dashes to pieces your worldly pride, and the second one dashes to pieces your spiritual pride!"
As Shri Nathji explained:
“Real desire for God-realisation brings one to a spiritual guide, but the goal of enlightenment can only be attained through sacrifice, and through the effacement of one’s ego, in a spirit of total self-surrender before the Will of God.
“Book knowledge remains a thing of the material world and is quite different from divine knowledge, which one acquires through perseverance and faith alone.”

MY FATHER, HH SHRI BHOLA NATHJI

HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) was a Great Spiritual Luminary who gave peace and beatitude to countless folk of all faiths who came to him. Each found in him his own.
The Hindus saw in him a great Vedantist, and the Sufi Muslims considered him a Great Sufi. The Sikhs saw in him the spiritual teachings of their Holy Books come alive. The Christians regarded him as a Great Christian.
It was amazing that he appeared to be endowed with the knowledge of all the Holy Books of all faiths from the time he was five years old! It was as if they were a part of him. It was as if he had come for all.
He would say:
" There is no man on earth whose religion I have not accepted or who has not accepted mine. For my religion is that of Love!"
"I have no mission except Love in this world,
My mission is Love and my work is Love"
He was not only speaking and writing spiritual truths, he was in fact a personification of all that was spiritual and righteous in this world.
He showed to the world that the Real Face of God upon Earth was that of Love and Peace.
When he spoke, people sat lost in another world, unconscious of the presence of time. All they felt was an indefinable love which could only be described as Divine, and an unfathomable Peace which took them to another world, in which they lost all their sorrows and worries. His audiences were in tears as he spoke, inexplicable tears which were a touch of the Divine in their hearts and souls.
His irrefutable logic which the greatest of intellectuals as well as the ordinary folk and even children could understand, interlaced with beautiful parables, kept people in a trance-like state from which they awakened only when the narration was over.
He made spiritual truths appear so simple that all at once everyone felt that these were meant for them and they could live by them..
He would say: "Where God exists, Time does not exist!"
Beautiful as no other mortal upon earth, and radiating with a light which could only be described as Divine, he appeared to be a Being from another world, a spiritual world.
Though many regarded him as God Incarnate, he was so humble that he called himself:
"Ghulam Rue Zameen", which is Persian for, "The Servant of the Earth!"
" I have not come as your Master. I have come as your Servant!"
"I have not come to be worshiped. I have come to worship you!"
He would say:
"I am a very old companion of yours. I know you but you do not know me. I was your companion even before the Universe came into existence!"

ACTUAL PERSIAN VERSES OF THE FOUR QUEENS

PARABLES OF HH SHRI BHOLA NATHJI (1902-1992)

There was a king an undefeated chess player who was challenged by a Fakir, to a game. He had Four Queens, Jahaano, Hayaato, Fanaah and Dilaram.
The conditions of the game were:
If the king won, the Fakir would lose his head.
But if the Fakir won, he would take one of the Four Queens
When the king found himself losing he decided not to end the game and to give away one of his queen to the Fakir.
He went to the first one Jahaano, which means "the world". But the queen said this verse to him:
"Tu baadshaahe jahani, jahaan ra za dast ma deh
Ke Baadshaahe jahaani ra jahaan kaar aayad"

"Thou art the king of the world, give away not thy world,
For the world must be of worth to the king of the world"
So the king went to give away the second queen Hayaato, "life", and the second queen said to him:
"Tu Baadshaahe jahaani, hayaat ra za dast ma deh
Ke dar hayaat na baashad, jahaan cheh kaar aayad"

"Thou art the king of the world, give away not thy life,
For if there be no life, of what use thy world!"
The King then went to the third queen Fanaah to give her away. Fanaah means "death".
And Fanaah said to him:
"Jahaano, hayaato, hamaa ra fanaah!
Fanaah raa nigaah kun ke aakhir fanaah!"

"Thy world, thy life both belong to me,
Look to death, for in the end it must be me!"
The king then went to Dilaram, "peace of mind" to give her away and Dilaram looked at the chess-board and said:
"Ai Baadshaah! Do rukh ba deh, dilaram ra ma deh,
Peelo, pyaadaa, pesh kun, va asp kisht maat"

"O King! Give up the two castles, but give up not Dilaram,
Move the bishop and the pawn and check and mate!"
And the king did what Dilaram had said, and won the game!
The Fakir said: "O King! It was not you who won, but Dilaram! Victory goes to her and I get to keep my head! I had come to teach you an important lesson in life that more important than thy world and thy life is thy peace of mind. Lose everything if you must but never lose your peace of mind, it will give you a victory over everything.."

LIFE - A GAME OF CHESS

From the Parables of my Father HH Shri Bhola Nathji
===============================================
A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE
===============================================
LIFE - A GAME OF CHESS
There was a great, undefeated champion of chess, a king, who had won many a game of chess and taken many a kingdom as the stake and prize of the game.
He had hung a metal gong at his gates which was meant for any challenger who wished to contest the king in a game of chess.
Since many a king had lost his kingdom in the chess game, there were no challengers left.
Then suddenly the gong rang one day -- a challenger!
It was a Fakir, a Holy Man, come to challenge the King!
The king said to the Fakir: "IF you lose, you lose your head!"
And the Fakir smiled and said to the King:
"And if you lose, you will have to give me one of your four queens!"
The king was aghast for a while, but then thinking of the Fakir as a madman, he agreed to the condition.
The four queens of the king were renowned all over the land for their beauty.
Their names were: Jahaano, (the World), Hayaato (Life) Fanaah, (Death) and Dilaram (Peace of Mind).
The king began the game with great gusto but very soon found himself pushed into a corner by the Fakir, who was rapidly winning the game.
It was the King's move but he gave up and left the chessboard to go and get one of his wives for the Fakir, as was the condition fixed for the game.
He went to the first queen, Jahaano, (the world) and said he was giving her away and explained what had happened. The first queen said:
"O King of the world, give away not thy world,
For if thou hast not thy world, of what willst thou be king?"
The king understood and went to Hayaato, (life). And Hayaato replied:
"O King of the world, give away not thy life,
For if thou hast not thy life of what use thy world!"
The king went to the third queen Fanaah, (death) determined to give her away. But Fanaah said to him:
"Thy World, and Thy Life, must both come to me!
"Keep Death with thee, O King, for in the end it must be me."
The king went to the last queen, Dilaram (Peace of Mind), and said he had no alternative now but to give her away. He took her to the Fakir at the chess board and was about to hand her over to the Fakir, when Dilaram said to the king:
"Stay! O King! Give up the two castles, but give up not thy Dilaram!
Move the bishop and the pawn and check and mate!"
The King did as Dilaram had instructed and won the game of chess!!
The Fakir said:"O King! It was not you who won, but Dilaram.
You get to keep your queen, while I get to keep my head!"
"I had come to teach you a lesson that more important than thy world, thy life and death, was thy Peace of Mind. If thou has it with thee all the time, thou hast won the game of life!"

RAVANA STILL ALIVE

IF ACTORS CAN ENACT LORD RAM AND THE EVIL KING, RAVANA, ON STAGE, WHY CAN'T I ENACT A DOUBLE ROLE WITH MY WEBCAM'S SPECIAL EFFECTS!
RAVANA STILL ALIVE
Once I and my Father, HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) went to watch a Ramlila drama enacting the eventual end of the Evil King Ravana as his Grass Effigy was set on fire by a fire arrow released by a fat political leader of the city.
A huge crowd thronged around Ravana as the Grass caught fire..
A fierce wind storm began to blow.
I said to my Father:
"I think we should go from here. What if the blazing Ravana Effigy which is about twenty feet in height, falls upon the people?"
The people were too hypnotized by the scene to move from there.
So I took my father home.
The next morning's newspaper had blazing headlines that said:
"THE BLAZING TWENTY FOOT RAVANA OF GRASS FELL UPON THE CROWD GATHERED AROUND HIM WHEN THE WINDSTORM BECAME TOO FURIOUS!
FORTUNATELY, THE PEOPLE ALL ESCAPED UNINJURED!"
My Father laughed and said:
"Whatever Priyaji says comes true! Here is another instance!"
So-- who says that Ravana is dead and gone!!
Satan still lives on in Christianity , as does Shaitan in Islam, so why not the Ravana of Hinduism!!
THE ONLY CONSOLATION IS THAT LORD RAMA ALSO LIVES ON!

THE BURNING OF EVIL TODAY

Today is the festival of Dushehra in India, when a grass effigy of the personification of Evil is burnt all over the country. It symbolizes the victory of good over evil.
Lord Rama, God Incarnate of Hindus, defeated Ravana, the most powerful evil King, on this day, several thousand years ago.
Yet, while celebrating the burning of the evil Ravana, what people forget is the love and forgiveness of Lord Rama.
On the eve of the battle with the Evil King, Lord Rama said:
"If Ravana repents even now, I shall forgive him!
" I shall not only let him keep his own kingdom of Lanka, but I shall hand over my own Kingdom of Ayodhya to him as well! And I shall spend the rest of my life serving Ravana as a gateman at the gates of his Kingdom!"
However Ravana did not repent and met with his inevitable end, being content in the thought that he was dying at the hands of the Benevolent Lord Himself.
While enjoying the festival and watching with delight the burning of the grass effigy of Ravana, what we must not forget is the Love and Kindness of the righteous Lord Rama.
Evil lives on in the hearts of people even today, which would make us think that millions of Ravanas are alive even today.
What is missing is that gentleness, righteousness, kindness, love and magnanimity that marked the true personality of Lord Rama.
Who killed Ravana only to liberate his tormented soul and to take him to heaven.

THE EMPEROR OF THE UNIVERSE !

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

It is my birthday today, on the 7th of October 2016.
It was my birthday on the 7th of October 2015.
So exactly one year has passed for me from 7th Oct, 2015
to 7th October 2016.
BUT ONE YEAR HAS PASSED FOR ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD FROM 7TH OCTOBER 2015 TO 7TH OCTOBER,2016.
SO IF I AM ONE YEAR OLDER DURING THIS TIME SO IS THE REST OF THE WORLD.
THEREFORE I WISH EVERYONE A HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY FOR THE PASSAGE OF ONE MORE YEAR IN THEIR LIVES!
ALSO, I WISH A HAPPY BIRTHDAY IN ADVANCE TO THOSE WHOSE BIRTHDAYS HAVE YET TO COME, AND I WISH TO GIVE A BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THOSE WHOSE BIRTHDAYS HAVE ALREADY PASSED.
IN A SCIENTIFIC SENSE WE HAVE ALL BEEN BORN FROM THE SAME "BIG BANG" THAT PRODUCED THE UNIVERSE, WE ARE ALL MADE OF THE SAME PARTICLES, ELEMENTS, ATOMS AND MOLECULES OF WHICH THE UNIVERSE IS COMPOSED,-- SO I WISH A HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL THE DENIZENS OF THE UNIVERSE!
ALL HAVE ONE FATHER, GOD, AND ALL ARE HIS CHILDREN. IN THIS THOUGHT ALONE ALL RELIGIOUS DIFFERENCES CAN CEASE TO EXIST.
IN THE WORDS OF MY FATHER HH SHRI BHOLA NATHJI:
"EVEN AS EVERY NIGHT MUST GIVE PLACE TO DAY AND EVERY AUTUMN TURN TO S
PRING, SO IT IS THE VOICE OF MY HEART THAT THE DAY IS NOT FAR OFF WHEN ONE GOD SHALL EXIST FOR ALL, AND ALL SHALL BE HIS CHILDREN, LOVE SHALL BE HIS WORSHIP, AND THE HEARTS OF MEN SHALL KNOW A NEVER-ENDING PEACE.

"ANOTHER YOU"-- APPLY IT TO GOD OR THOSE YOU LOVE!

"I'LL NEVER FIND ANOTHER YOU!"
There's a new world somewhere
They call The Promised Land
And I'll be there some day
If you will hold my hand

I shall need you there beside me
No matter what I do
For I know I'll never find another you
There is always someone
For each of us they say
And you'll be my someone
For ever and a day
I could search the whole world over
Until my life is through
But I know I'll never find another you
It's a long, long journey
So stay by my side
When I walk through the storm
You'll be my guide, be my guide
If they gave me a fortune
My treasure would be small
I could lose it all tomorrow
And never mind at all
But if I should lose YOU
I don't know what I'll do
For I know I'll never find another you

THE CELESTIAL MUSIC WITHIN YOU

“It is you in whom this wondrous music lies. Someone was needed to bring to an end your silence, and to bring out from within you that music which lay concealed; and to recreate it before you, even as the wind reveals to the ocean its own form as the waves, and the reflection of a mirror reveals to the viewer his own face.”
The notes of music lie asleep within the strings of a sitar.
The strings, that stretch from one end of the board to the other, have within them a sweet, sonorous melody that lies unawakened.
The strings are silent, and they wait in the hope of hearing the song that will once again set them vibrating with joy. They look to someone else for music, though they have within them what they seek!
Their yearning, expressed in their silence, bursts forth into an intense desire that beckons a musician. He comes.
He lifts the sitar, picks up the ‘mizraab’, to pluck the strings with, and, then, placing his fingers on the strings, sets the air ringing with the strings of a beautiful, haunting refrain.
The strings feel again the joy of their souls but do not know from whence the melody comes.
The musician lifts up his fingers. The song is at an end. The notes die out in the emptiness of air and the musician’s voice is heard.

SOME SIMPLE PRINCIPLES OF SPIRITUAL LIFE

The following principles should always be borne in mind and a constant effort should be made for acting up to them. Our present condition is such that it compels us to adopt a simple and cheap line of treatment.
1. Perform no action in secret : or in other words, when you are going to do something which is bad either in your relation to society or in relation to God and it strikes you that Secrecy is required for it, then abandon it at once.
2. Do nothing which after being done will lead you to tell lies.
3. Do not desire evil for anyone : no matter what his religion or nationality may be.
4. Help some poor person or persons as far as you can. If you are not in a position to help, then try not to hurt anyone.
5. Never remain alone (mentally) : i.e. imagine that that Reality, that Great Power, is always with you. All your words and actions should be worthy of His presence with you at all times.
6. Find time once every morning and once every evening for prayers : In the morning, address God in your own words : something like this :
“O Lord of all Creation, I am Thine. For some reason I am again trapped in this body. Thy world is very alluring and powerful. I am going out into it for a day. Catch me by the hand and give me strength to behave in it in the right way. Keep your own remembrance always fresh in my mind. I am a child, and have no wisdom. In any case, I cannot overpower evil thoughts created by my senses. For that reason please do catch me by the hand, and take me through the day, under thy own guidance and protection. Do catch my hand please!”
In the evening turn your attention inwards to see where and on how many occasions weakness appeared and you fell. Repent genuinely and pray to God to help you through similar occasions when they arise next time, without a fall. On the other hand, if any good act appears to have been performed by you during the day, be not proud, but thank God because His kindness helped you to do it successfully.
7. In all pleasure and pain that comes during the day try to see His will prevailing. Enshrine Him in your heart perpetually.
Look upon your ties and relationships as an Actor looks upon his stage relations : whose reality is immortal but whose dresses are changeable. Either dissolve these stage ties completely internally : or establish a permanent and abiding relationship with them knowing of their reality which is immortal and never-ending.
8. Do no good turn with the expectation of getting a return for it : but always try to please the Master with your play (actions).
AMEN

HOW MANY UNIVERSES IN THE UNIVERSE?

My most favorite scientist has always been the late Prof. Carl Sagan,(1934-1996) who many remember as the originator of the "COSMOS" series on TV.
A true scientist, an unbiased humanist, a lover of humanity, as handsome as a movie star, such was the personality of Prof. Carl Sagan who, for the first time explained the Universe in plain and simple terms to the layman. And who was a brilliant award winning scientist himself.
He was honored by Harvard University in the USA as well as the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and NASA and many famous institutes like Cornell University etc.
According to him there are billions of planets in the Universe that are capable of harboring life, like ours or even superior to ours.
Strangely enough, even though he was an agnostic, he was greatly impressed by the philosophy of Hinduism, which he believed to have nearly touched the truth about the age of the Universe and the theories of Yugas, the repeated creation and destruction of the Universe, thus giving rise to the concept of an infinite number of Universes, past, present and future. This would make the Universe billions of years old.
His writings make man feel how tiny his own ego is in comparison to the Universes around him, the billions of planets, billions of stars, which are nothing but suns, the billions of galaxies of stars, the billions of clusters of galaxies, the Universe stretching for billions of miles with billions of tons of matter in it, -- and everything following well-regulated scientific laws.
This should give us an idea of the strength and power of the Creator, God.
Someone asked my father HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) who was a Great Spiritual Luminary of his time
"If God created the Universe, then who created God?"
And Shri Bhola Nathji replied:
"If you say that God did not create the Universe, then who did?
"If you can say that the Universe always was, it always shall be, it created itself--- then what is wrong in saying that God always was, and always shall be and that He is Existence itself!
"If dead matter can create such an intelligent Universe filled with such intelligent laws of science, then is it not more likely that a Super Intelligent,Super Conscious Power, like God created the Universe with all its scientific laws beyond the understanding of men?"

A HOUSE IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD

From the Parables of HH Shri Bhola Nathji

HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) was a Great Spiritual Luminary of his time who gave peace and beatitude to countless folk during his sojourn upon earth.

PARABLE
A King and his Queen live happily in a prosperous kingdom.
One Day a Holy Man, said to be a Prophet, visits their kingdom and sits in one of the streets engaging in his work of giving peace to people.
Queen: "O King! I want to go and pay my respects to the Holy Man and learn of the meaning of life from him."
King: "O Queen! What do you lack in life? All the comforts of life are yours? What more do you want? What other secret of life?"
Queen: "O King, we are sitting amongst the pleasures of life, but these are not to last. This life is passing away and must give way to Death. What is to come after that?"
The King derides the beliefs of his queen, and tells her that she can go to the Holy Man but he will not waste his time.
The Queen goes to the Holy Man, who does not even cast a glance in her direction. He is busy building a small house of mud, pebbles and stones.
Queen: "O Holy Sire! What makest thou?"
Holy Man: "I am old now and may leave the world at any time. I am making for myself a House in the Kingdom of God!"
Queen: Looks on in fascination, and then on a sudden impulse says:
"O Holy Sire! Thou who grant the wishes of all! Please grant me a boon! Please give me this house! You can build another for yourself!"
Holy Man: "You appear to be the queen! All right I will grant you your wish, but there will be a price. Give me all your jewellery! I want to distribute it to the poor people! Their gratitude and prayers will please God and He will grant you a House in His Kingdom!"
The queen begins to have doubts in her mind. My jewellery for this house of mud, pebbles and stone!!
In that one instant of her hesitation, the Holy Man understands what is going on in her mind and turns to her and says:
"O Queen! Even if you offer me the entire wealth of your kingdom , I will not accept it in exchange for this House in the Kingdom of God, each and every brick of which is worth a thousand kingdoms such as yours. Now Go away! And don't waste my time!"
The queen realizes the great mistake she has made by doubting the Holy Man, and immediately makes amends. She returns to the palace and brings all her jewelry and ornaments and places them at the feet of the Holy Man!
The Holy Man is pleased at her repentance and gives her the house of pebbles and mud, which she carries in a large piece of cloth and returns to the palace in a state of great bliss!!
The king is furious! He thinks his wife has gone mad when he finds out about the jewelry his wife gave in exchange for the house of pebbles and mud.
HE ALSO GETS NEWS THAT THE HOLY MAN IS THROWING AWAY THE ORNAMENTS TO THE POOR IN THE STREETS.
He leaves the chamber of the queen and goes to sleep in another room, still in a rage.
And he has a strange dream. He finds himself in a beautiful world, something he had never even thought about all his life, being an agnostic. The place has magnificent mansions made of precious stones the likes of which are not seen on earth. There is peace and an undefinable bliss in the air.
Suddenly he sees there a huge palace with the name of his queen on it. He tries to enter it, but is thrown out by the guards.
He awakens with a start!! He had seen the House of his queen in the Kingdom of God! The Holy Man was telling the truth.
He rushes to the Holy Man carrying with him the entire wealth in his treasury and he falls at the feet of the Holy Man and asks him to give him a House also in the Kingdom of God!
The Holy Man is angered when he sees that the king has brought his entire treasury with him.
Holy Man: "Do you think you can purchase a house in the Kingdom of God with your wealth? Do you think it was the ornaments of the queen that got her a place there? No it was her FAITH in God. She took the house of pebbles on my word and accepted it to be a house in the Kingdom of God, WITHOUT actually seeing the place!"
"You are greedy and selfish! You have come here AFTER seeing the kingdom of God and
wish to buy a house there! I shall never give it to you now, for any price!!"
The King realizes his folly, his greed and his desire to possess everything that was good in the world. His past sins come before his mind. He begins to weep with repentance and says:
"O Holy Sire! You are right! I am not worthy to enter the Kingdom of God, far less have a house there! I go now to the world of sin in which I live!"
The Holy Man suddenly turns around and says:
"O King! Whither goest thou? Thou hast forgotten something!
Take this with thee -- thy house in the Kingdom of God!"
Man becomes so engrossed in the material pleasures of the world that he forgets that he must leave this world one day and go to another world, in which he has no faith, and for which he has made no preparation at all. It is only when an awakening and faith in God and repentance enter his heart that he becomes worthy of a place there.

HH SHRI BHOLA NATHJI AND SMT. SAVITRI DEVI BLESSINGS FROM HEAVEN

DOES THE KINGDOM OF GOD EXIST?

DOES THE KINGDOM OF GOD EXIST?
HH SHRI NATHJI - MESSAGE OF LOVE·FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16,
HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) was a Great Spiritual Luminary of his time who gave peace and beatitude to countless souls, and whose mission in life was that of Love and Peace.
His unmatched beauty and overflowing Love for humanity made him appear as a Being from another world.
His soothing, honeyed words, brought instant peace of mind to his listeners, and had an uncanny irrefutable logic that sent his audiences into raptures.
They still serve as a Guiding Light to humanity to relieve them of their sorrows and sufferings and to give them peace of mind.
======================================================

There was a time when a philosopher and agnostic from Europe came to see HH Shri Nathji and said to him:
Agnostic: “Can you give me any proof that the Kingdom of God exists? I refuse to believe in anything until I have seen it with my own eyes! I am a rational scientist.”
HH Shri Nathji: “I can use your logic and say that Europe does not exist, just because I have not seen it!”
Agnostic: “But I have proof that Europe exists!”
HH Shri Nathji: “What proof do you have?”
Agnostic: “There are so many things that come here which are made in Europe!”
HH Shri Nathji: “This vast Universe has been made by God, and that is proof enough that God exists and therefore there is a Kingdom of God!”
Agnostic: “There are books that come to us from Europe written by learned men, intellectuals and Ph.D’s there! These clearly prove that Europe exists!”
HH Shri Nathji: “The Holy Books of all religious faiths which run into thousands of pages prove that the Kingdom of God exists! And the great miracle is that these books influence the lives of millions of people all over the globe, even though they do not claim to be written by intellectuals with Ph.Ds in their subjects, like worldly folk!”
Agnostic: “But I have another proof of the existence of Europe! There are people that come here, who are from Europe!”
HH Shri Nathji: “There are people who come from the Kingdom of God. The Saints, Sages, Prophets, Messiahs, Saviours of all religious faiths, all of whom claim to come from the Kingdom of God!”
Agnostic: “Come, let me end this argument once and for all! I come from Europe and that is sufficient proof that Europe exists! Let me take you there!”
HH Shri Nathji: “But why should I believe you?”
Agnostic: “Because I have no reason to lie to you. I do not wish to cheat you in any way. I am a man of absolute honesty and integrity. You have to have faith in my words!”
HH Shri Nathji: “In that case, I can say the same for myself. That I come from the Kingdom of God. Let me take you there.
If FAITH is all that matters then why don’t you have faith in me!”
HH Shri Nathji: “Ultimately it is a matter of Faith. You cannot say that you will believe in a place only after you have seen it. You must have Faith that it exists first, and then go there and see it for yourself!”
HH Shri Nathji: “The Holy Men of all faiths were men of unquestionable honesty and integrity. They wanted nothing from mankind. They asked us to have Faith in their words, for our own betterment. There is no reason for us to doubt their experiences.
"If they have come from the Kingdom of God then they must know that it exists. We can only come to know about it when we get there ourselves after having Faith in their words, and observing the laws laid down for gaining admission into the Kingdom of God!”

THE FOUNTAIN OF IMMORTALITY

It is a fact that nobody wants to die in the world. Whenever anyone is ill, the best efforts, the most expensive medical aid that he can afford, all that he can spend, everything that he can do, is tried to the best of one's ability.
Most medications and supplements and transplants are designed to prolong life.
But for how long?
The inevitable, inexorable march towards Death continues to go on and no one is spared in the end.
Hence the question arises: For how long does one wish to live?
And the answer is "forever", "eternally".
Everyone wants immortality, a life that never ends.
What everyone wants is Eternal Life, and no one gets it in his lifetime.
Alexander the Great wanted to conquer the whole world. And he wished to do it while he was still young. But time was catching up with him. He desired immortality fast, so that Death would not catch up with him before he had conquered the whole world.
As legend goes, his Spiritual Guide, Aristotle, told him of a Fountain of immortality after drinking of which a person would become immortal. Death would never come to him. He would never die.
This was what Alexander had been in search of -- a life without Death.
And, so, Alexander and his Guide, Aristotle went to the forest where the Fountain of Immortality was flowing in the center of a pond.
Aristotle gave him a cup and asked him to dip it in the waters of the pond and drink from it, so that he would become immortal, attain immortality in this life, so that he would never die.
Alexander dipped his cup into the waters of the pond and was about to lift it to his mouth when he saw a strange sight.
Gathered on the other side of the pond was a huge crowd of people who were wailing and crying in agony.
"Aristotle!" said a bewildered Alexander, "where have you brought me? Why are all these people weeping and wailing?"
Aristotle: "They are weeping and wailing because they are in extreme agony!"
Alexander: "Then why don't they drink from the Fountain of Immortality?"
Aristotle: "Alexander! They have already drunk of the Fountain of Immortality!"
Alexander: "What! They why are they crying in agony? What are they asking for?"
Aristotle: "Alexander! They are asking for Death! They have attained immortality and they cannot die. But the sorrows and miseries of the world are now with them forever. They want to be relieved of their misery, and desire Death, which cannot come to them because they have become immortal!"
Alexander awakens as if from a dream. And then after a while he throws the cup into the pond and walks away from the place.
"If this is what immortality brings, a life of eternal sorrow and suffering, then I do not want immortality!"
Indeed, an eternal life without eternal happiness is a burden too great for man to bear.
God who created life, very meaningfully created Death as well, for all the living beings on earth.
We must accept Life as an order of God and Death as another order of God, and surrender ourselves before His Will in both circumstances.
It is in this surrender before His Will that Death turns into Eternal Life and Eternal Happiness.
In fact there is neither life nor death. There is just the Will of God.
It is said that Alexander never found the Spiritual Guide who could lead him to an Eternal Life which was also accompanied by Eternal Happiness.
As a Persian poet wrote centuries ago:
"Tahi dastaane kismat raa cheh sood az murshide kaamil
Choon khizr az aabe haivaan tishna lab mi aarad Sikander raa"
Alas! Those with an empty destiny cannot benefit from a Spiritual Guide!
Even as Alexander was left thirsty despite attaining the Fountain of Eternal Life.

THY PORTRAIT IS THE SOLACE OF MY LIFE

A portrait is a unique reminder of Someone who is close to us, or even far from us. The portrait of a friend or loved one fills us with his love.
The portrait of a Godly Personality connects us to God.
It is like a telephone line on which you can speak to your
beloved Lord.

Here is a beautiful Urdu Song or Ghazal wrtten by my father, HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) when he was just a young man. He wrote it as an ode to his Father, HH Shri Babaji Maharaj.
Today many have found the truth of this Ghazal as they look at the portraits of HH Shri Bhola Nathji and find that it gives them solace in
moments of trials and tribulations. It fills their minds with peace and an indescribable bliss which can only be divine.
A translation can scarce capture the spirit of the original Urdu, but I have made an attempt here:
"This Thy Portrait is the
Solace of my life,
On its Grace doth rest the
Foundation of my life
Thy Bountiful hands did
Scatter those jewels,
Which turned into kings,
The beggars of the world
This Revelation of Truth,
Is a Message of Eternity
Which shall never let it go out,
The Spark of this life,
Come Thou again as a
Blooming Garden from a bud,
So that the nightingale
May find the joy of its life
The Benign Grace of thy sight
Has put to flight,
The ego that was
The Veil of my life
O Saki! Give what thou must
To Nath today,
For it has gone beyond endurance,
This waiting of my Life"

THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL

On September 6, 1992, 24 years ago, for me, the entire world had come to a standstill. In fact it had ceased to exist.
On September 6, 1992, my Dear Father, HH Shri Bhola Nathji
(1902-1992) left his physical body at the age of 90, and returned to the Infinity of His Immortal Invisible Self, from where he had come. For me, he was the only God I ever knew or shall ever know. And this was the feeling of many who had met him in life, and still is.
His incredibly beautiful personality which was a personification of Divine Beauty, openly revealed who he was.Accompanying it was a Divine Glow not seen on the face of any mortal of his time. It was as if he had come from another world.
His Divine Love which penetrated deep inside the hearts and souls of all, relieving them of their ills and sorrows, was so overpowering that people who came to him involuntarily broke out into tears. When he left, it was as if their greatest Loved One was gone. He spent his entire life giving peace and beatitude to people.
Merely to come before him was to be freed of all the cares and worries of the world.
While people regarded him as God Incarnate, his humility was so great that he simply called himself:
"The Servant of the Earth"
He was not living for himself but for the people of the world, especially those in misery and sorrow.
From the day he was born, on the 23rd of June, 1902, till the day he left the physical world, the Divine Glow on his Face remained with him giving light to humanity in more ways than one.
While most people had been predicting a doom and a nuclear holocaust for the world, he had been writing songs of divine bliss and divine forgiveness.
This was during 1984 when the world was threatened by an almost certain nuclear war and 50,000 nuclear weapons were in existence.
It was his Voice:
"Someone shall change the face of the world in a fraction of a moment,
Peace is on its way, and the age of war is going away!"
"When all of mankind shall be standing before God, their heads bowed in shame,
They shall see before them the Glory of God which shall set them free of sin!"
And at that time the clouds of war vanished in a trice.
His words still ring out for humanity:
"I HAVE NO MISSION EXCEPT LOVE IN HIS WORLD,
MY MISSION IS LOVE AND MY WORK IS LOVE!"
"I AM A VERY OLD COMPANION OF YOURS.
I WAS YOUR COMPANION EVEN BEFORE THE UNIVERSE CAME INTO EXISTENCE!"
"I HAVE NOT COME AS YOUR MASTER. I HAVE COME AS YOUR SERVANT."
'I HAVE NOT COME TO BE WORSHIPED. I HAVE COME TO WORSHIP YOU."
" I CANNOT BE CONTENT WITH MY OWN SALVATION TILL EVEN ONE PERSON IS IN BONDAGE."
"LET THE STORMS OF THE WORLD COME, SO THAT YOU MAY KNOW OF THE STRENGTH OF YOUR PILOT."
"SPEAK NOT TO ME OF MIRACLES,
FOR I HAVE LEFT MIRACLES BEHIND!"
'MY GREATEST MIRACLE IS TO KINDLE THE LIGHT OF FAITH IN YOUR HEARTS WHICH NOT EVEN THE FIERCEST OF STORMS CAN BLOW OUT!"
"NOW THAT YOU HAVE COME TO ME,
YOUR WORK IS FINISHED, BUT MINE HAS JUST BEGUN"
"REMEMBER, I AM YOURS.
WHEN I AM NEAR, I AM YOURS,
WHEN I AM FAR, I AM YOURS,
IN EVERY SORROW, I AM YOURS,
IN EVERY JOY, I AM YOURS,
IN LIFE, I AM YOURS,
AND IN DEATH, I AM YOURS."
"WHEN IN NEED YOU CAN CALL OUT TO ME,
I SHALL COME, FASTER THAN THE WIND,
FASTER THAN THE FLASH OF LIGHTNING!"
"I AM AROUND YOU ALL THE TIME,
LIKE THE INVISIBLE AIR WHICH SUSTAINS YOUR LIFE
BUT DOES NOT MAKE ITS PRESENCE FELT!"
'' EVEN AS EVERY NIGHT MUST GIVE PLACE TO DAY.
AND EVERY AUTUMN TURN TO SPRING,
SO IT IS THE VOICE OF MY HEART
THAT THE TIME IS NOT VERY FAR.
WHEN ONE GOD SHALL EXIST FOR ALL,
AND ALL SHALL BE HIS CHILDREN,
LOVE SHALL BE HIS WORSHIP,
AND THE HEARTS OF MEN SHALL KNOW
A NEVER ENDING PEACE!"
