I have no mission except Love in this world

HH SHRI BHOLA NATHJI (1902-1992)
A Great Spiritual Luminary of our times, who gave peace and beatitude to countless souls during his lifetime, and who called himself, Ghulam Rue Zameen, i.e. The Servant of the Earth.

He would say:

"I have no mission except Love in this world,
My mission is Love and my work is Love!

"TO FORGET GOD"

By HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) A Great Spiritual Luminary of his time, who called himself "Ghulam Rue Zameen" i.e. "The Servant of the Earth.

Here is one of his important pronouncements:

"TO FORGET GOD IS AN OPEN INVITATION TO THE SORROWS OF THE WORLD."

A devotee of God who had forgotten God in the lure of the pleasures of the materialistic world, soon found every joy turning into sorrow, every success turning into failure, every happiness converting itself into misery, and he relented, and this was his voice:

"I had wished that I never forget Thee for even a moment,
Alas! My forgetting Thee is now my sorrow of every moment!"

The "sorrow" here refers not only to the sufferings that the world brings but it also refers to the sorrow of the soul, which has lost its precious moments of life in pursuing material objects, all of which disappear with death, whereas God is the only Reality.

WHAT IS THE WORTH OF GOD?

By HH Shri Bhola Nathji ( 1902-1992) A great spiritual luminary of his time who gave peace and beatitude to countless souls during his lifetime.

"A Devotee of God who genuinely believed in God asked Him:

'O Lord! What is the price that Thou would place on Thyself so that I may see Thee?"

And God said: "My price is the Heavens and the Earth put together!"

The Devotee was shocked and said:

"O Lord! That Cheap! Please dont make yourself so cheap for a worthless creature like me! Please raise your price some more!

DESIRE THE ROOT CAUSE OF SORROWS

By HH Shri Babaji Bhagwan, (1867-1940) a Great Enlightened Soul of his time.

By HH Shri Babaji Bhagwan, (1867-1940) a Great Enlightened Soul of his time.

"If you do not get what you desire, there is sorrow,
If you get what you do not desire, there is sorrow!"

"If you do not desire anything, then there is no sorrow at all!"

Thank of a situation in which you are restless for a desire to be fulfilled, and until the desire is fulfilled there is no peace in your life.

For example you desire a car. You remain restless till the car is obtained and you remain in sorrow if it is not.

If you get rid of the desire for the car -- all your sorrows will vanish in an instant.

Imagine a situation in life when ALL your desires are fulfilled. Imagine the state of your happiness.

But this is unlikely to happen.

However imagine a state in life when you have removed all desires from your mind.

You are then in an indescribable state of happiness. You are exactly in a state in which all desires have been fulfilled.

But you will say: "If we remove all desires from our hearts how will we survive?"

But remember, when you breathe you do not do so with your own desire. Your breathing is something spontaneous which comes to you even without your desiring it.

You twinkle your eyelashes, this is not with your own desire.
Your heart beats, and this is not with your desire, all your bodily functions, and there are millions of them, carry on their work, and this is not with your desire.

When you do not desire, it does not mean nothing happens for you!

Then a Higher Power takes over, a Power we call God, who takes care of you - who brought you into this world without your desire and who will take you away from here even without your desire.

Then you are working through His Desire, which is perfect for you and which does not go wrong, like so many of your own desires do.

So leave your desires to Him who is Desiring everything for you and who knows better than you what is for your betterment.

As Shri Babaji Bhagwan used to say in impeccable English:

"I AM CONVINCED THERE IS NO CONDITION HIGHER THAN THAT SILENCE WHICH COMES OF THE ABANDONMENT OF ALL LATENT DESIRES!"

"IT IS A CONDITION THAT TAKES YOU DIRECTLY TO GOD WHERE HE COMES TO FULFILL YOUR DESIRES HIMSELF!"

HOW TO CONTROL YOUR ANGER INSTANTLY

Anger is a double-edged sword. Not only does it hurt the one it is directed at, but it hurts the one who gives vent to it.
There was the famous cardiologist who said: "The first fool who makes me angry will kill me!"
When you are angry the arteries in the heart constrict, thus leading to the possibility of an instant heart attack. And the same thing can happen in the brain, when you have a stroke.
The one towards whom the angry outburst is directed has merely to shut his ears or turn away and he is safe. But the one who shouts is the one who suffers.
If at all you must be angry then be angry at the tendency to get angry.

ONE OF THE GREATEST OUTBURSTS OF ANGER COMES ABOUT WHEN YOU FIND YOURSELF BETRAYED BY SOMEONE YOU TRUSTED AND LOVED.

HOW DO YOU CONTROL YOURSELF AT THAT TIME?

HERE IS THE FORMULA ENUNCIATED BY MY GRANDFATHER THE GREAT ENLIGHTENED SOUL, HH SHRI BABAJI BHAGWAN, (1867-1940).

THE FORMULA:

JUST WHEN YOU ARE ABOUT TO LOSE YOUR TEMPER AGAINST SOMEONE WHO HAS BETRAYED YOU -- THEN PAUSE FOR JUST ONE MOMENT AND THINK OF ALL THE GOOD THINGS HE HAS DONE FOR YOU, EVEN ONE GOOD THING, AND ALL THE GOOD TIMES YOU HAVE SPENT TOGETHER OR EVEN ONE GOOD TIME -- THIS WILL DOUSE THE FIRE OF ANGER WITHIN YOU ALMOST INSTANTLY.

TRY IT AND SEE THAT THIS FORMULA WORKS EVERY TIME. IT IS A BUILT IN MECHANISM INSIDE YOUR HEART TO SAVE YOU, PLACED THERE BY YOUR CONSCIENCE OR RATHER GOD HIMSELF!

THE RECOLLECTION OF GOODNESS DOUSES THE FIRE ROUSED BY BETRAYAL.

A LIGHT IS BORN

A LIGHT IS BORN

Today, January 21, 2015, is the 148th birth anniversary of my Grandfather, who was born on 1867 and who left for his eternal immortal abode in December 1940. His name was Devi Das Mehta and he was born in the Punjab in Northern India. He came to be described as HH Shri Babaji Bhagwan in later days, even as the effulgence of his divine light spread to those around him.

He was the Father of my Father HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) The Founder of the World Prayer Day for Peace and Love.

He was an enlightened soul who came into the world to spread love and peace and to alleviate the ills and sorrows of mankind. Indeed such are the enlightened souls who come into the world and are described as prophets, seers and sages, carrying the light of God within them. People who come into contact with them instinctively feel this.

Born as the only son to a millionaire family, he could have chosen to become a rich young man after the death of his father. But instead he chose the spiritual path and gave away all his wealth to the poor and those in need. He rejoiced in this renunciation. Wealth had no meaning for him save that it could be used to help others. Wealth had become a means of spiritual attainment.

He was one of the wisest men of his time, and, when in school, he was often dubbed 'Aristotle" and would resolve many a dispute amongst people.

He loved everyone. There were no strangers for him. What could induce a man to love total strangers just as much as he loved his own self? Herein lies the hallmark of the Enlightened Soul.

Multitudes thronged to him to obtain peace and beatitude and to listen to his words of Love and Compassion that were a soothing balm to the heart. He was filled with Love and Compassion for humanity. The sufferings of the world were his own. He could not bear to see anyone in pain or sorrow.

Here are some of his quotations of the time:

"I cannot be content with my own salvation for as long as even one person is in bondage."

"I am convinced there is no condition higher than that silence which comes of the abandonment of all latent desires."

"There is no state which is higher than mine,
And there is no state which is lower than mine.
And there is no state which is like mine."

"I am content with what God has given me as my share,
And I commit to my Creator my every care,
To do good in the past has been indeed His Will,
He will do good as well in what is to come still"

UNIVERSAL PRAYER WRITTEN BY HIM

"I adore Thee as my first beginning,
I aspire after Thee as my last end,
I give Thee thanks as my constant Benefactor,
I call upon Thee as my sovereign Protector,
Vouchsafe, O my God,
To conduct me by Thy wisdom,
Restrain me by Thy Justice,
Comfort me by Thy Mercy,
Defend me by Thy power.
To Thee I desire to consecrate
All my thoughts, words, actions and sufferings,
That henceforth I may think of Thee,
Speak of Thee,
Willingly refer all my actions to
Thy Greater Glory,
And suffer willingly
Whatever Thou shalt appoint.
Lord, I desire that in all things Thy will may be done,
Because it is Thy Will,
And in the manner Thou willest"

For him Life and Death did not exist. He would say:

"Life is an order of God that brings man into the world and Death another order of God that takes man away from the world."

On the 13th of December 1940, he closed his eyes to the mortal world and mingled into the infinity of his immortal self, but his Spirit lives on in the hearts of the good folk of the world. Wherever there is Goodness, Righteousness, Love, Compassion and Peace, Shri Babaji lives on.

His greatest gift to the world was his son, HH Shri Bhola Nathji, who was later the Founder of the World Prayer Day for Peace.

MY RELIGION - EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SPIRITUALITY

MY RELIGION - EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SPIRITUALITY
By
Priya Nath Mehta
M.Sc., (Physics) M.S. (Harvard)

Although I have equal respect for all the faiths of the world and have read their holy books, but I have found my solace in these four pages written down by my Father, H.H., Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) who was the Founder of the World Prayer Day for Peace and a Great Spiritual Luminary of His time who gave peace and beatitude to countless souls relieving them of their ills and sorrows.
And these four pages form my Holy Book and my Religion.

I am sure people of all faiths will find something common here. I would urge every person to read this important Message as it will only add to his own personal beliefs and prove of great use in times of sorrow and suffering. and also bring happiness and peace in his life.

A MESSAGE OF PEACE
By HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992)

"Convey through me to those who walk in the way of Divine Love such a message that they may themselves proceed one stage further on the way to self- surrender."

Neither this world alone nor the renunciation of the world can give us rest. Rest is in this alone that we receive the world's Creator into our hearts and learn to live in the world.

Renunciation- the greatest is to know that all things are God's.

Enthusiasm- the greatest is that He is with us.

Courage- the greatest is that we belong to Him.

Relationship - the greatest is that we are His children.

Devotion- the highest is that in all things we see Him.

Man is made for activity; that is life. Since the divine creation is immortal, one should act to make it more beautiful; yet so act as by renunciation of desire to purify oneself . Forsaking selfish ends, one should devote all one's powers to the Master's service. This attitude alone will bring you fullness of perfect peace.

You know that in this world death is certain, so profit from this certainty and devote your life to truth, universal love, and the service of others.

For the drop to merge itself in the ocean is eternal life. The drop gives to the ocean its insignificance, and the ocean gives to it its
infinitude.

You are made neither for life nor for death, but rather in life to die and in death to live.

Let not your gaze rest on outward show or conflict or difference, but let it rest on reality and truth. Look not on the drop, the wave, or the swirling current, but look on the water which takes these many forms.

Is not the world God's world and those who live in it His children? Then whom can you despise ? No matter if you cannot retire to the forest; serve God here by the performance of your duties. Seek no reward for your service; the reward will come of itself.
If you think of reward, your Master may doubt whether you love Him or love only the things He can give. Do your utmost to think of service itself as the reward of every good action. Devote yourself to it and all else will follow. Direct your steps towards the sun and your shadow will follow you.

If your master keeps you in poverty, be happy in that state because it is your Master's gift. Love the thorns more than the rose and consider their wounds better than balm.

Self- surrender means that if He keeps you apart you be not grieved, and if He wishes to meet you, you hasten your steps toward Him. Think not that by accepting separation from Him you are really apart; by this very act you unite yourself with His Will and that means union with Him.

Yes, you should walk just as He wishes you to walk, not as you wish. He does not refuse to follow you, but He fears that to do so would work you harm, for your understanding is gross and your knowledge inadequate.
He loves you for your good, and you for your welfare and repose love and worship Him. Is this justified? Learn to love Him for His own sake. People think Him selfish that He desires worship, but they understand not that in this way by conferring His own presence He wishes to give perfect joy.

He alone does not rest in His repose. He wishes to draw the whole world to Himself. When He purges away a man's sins, that is not to be counted as harshness. He is merciful and kind, His every action is free of harshness. It is our wounds that pain by the application of His ointment.

Why are you troubled ? Do you not belong to God and is He not yours ? This thought will cleanse your mind in every trouble.

Follow truth and care not what labour it may bring. He, whose laws you keep, Himself will care for you. Ask of Him one tiny bit of faith and you will have no desire more.

All have one Father and all are His children-in this thought all religious differences and conflicts will cease. Let each person follow his own path, and do you follow yours.

If anyone despise you, love him. Love even atheists, because God is present in them. If within the Divine Being one is an atheist, why should you cease to see the Divine Being in him ? Does not the very existence of him who denies prove the existence of God ? Does not the picture prove the artist ? The great virtue of this world is that He appears in all, or all appears in Him.

Different religions are but different paths to one goal. If anyone ill treats you leave him to God, not that he may be punished, but that he may receive mercy, and for yourself ask courage and patience to bear his injustice.

If suffering has enclosed you and you cannot escape, then follow that tested prescription of forsaking all trust in yourself and your powers, and laying all your troubles before your Master wait to see what He will bring. Either you will be released from that trouble, or you will be given strength to bear it; only let there be no pretence in your surrender.

Don't for an instant empty your mind of the thought of Him, and you will have no danger. If you have gained all, but have lost faith in Him, you have erred greatly; but if you have lost all and gained Him you are wise.

Someone asked me, "How does one find God ?"
I said, "Awaken a hunger for him."
He asked again, "How to awaken hunger?"
Then I said, "Associate with those who hunger after Him, those who desire Him.

"Seek to see God with your heart, not your mind.
The chief thing is this that you should never stray from the garden of truth, universal love and faith, and that you should do good to all men at all times. Your Master Himself will come and take your hand."

Renounce all thought of my and mine,
And from a drop become the sea.
Lose thou thyself in Truth Divine,
And know thou art Infinity.

And my work is Love."

WHERE ARE WE?

From the memoirs of His Holiness Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) The Founder of the World Prayer Day for Peace and Love, and a great spiritual luminary of his time, who gave peace and beatitude to countless souls, relieving them of their ills and sorrows.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

There was a time when H.H. Shri Bhola Nathji or HH Shri Nathji as he was affectionately called, was walking with a group of followers in the city of Patiala,in the Punjab, in India.

Quite suddenly he stopped and looking down upon the ground said:
"What is this?"
His followers were taken aback and thought he had seen a snake.
"It is just the ground!" they said.
HH Shri Nathji continued: "And to whom does this land belong?"
"To the Maharaja of Patiala!"
HH Shri Nathji asked: "And where is Patiala?"
"In the Punjab!"
HH Shri Nathji: "So the land belongs to Punjab!"
He continued: "And where is Punjab?"
"In India!"
HH Shri Nathji:"So the land belongs to India!"
HH Shri Nathji: "Now where is India?"
"On the earth!"
HH Shri Nathji : "So the land belongs to the earth!"
HH Shri Nathji: "And where is the earth?"
"In the Universe!"
HH Shri Nathji:"So the land belongs to the Universe!"
HH Shri Nathji "Now where is the Universe?"
HH Shri Nathji: "In the Thought of God, in His Will!"
HH Shri Nathji: "So the Universe belongs to God!"
HH Shri Nathji:"So in the end even this land we are walking upon in Patiala belongs to God. He was the real owner of everything!
What a superficial array of owners we had imagined!"

GOD LAUGHS ON TWO OCCASIONS

by HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) great spiritual luminary of his time, who gave peace and beatitude to countless souls and relieved them of their ills and sorrows.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

"God laughs on two occasions:

Firstly:

When two brothers quarrel, each one claiming that the land belongs to him. God laughs and says to them:
"This land belongs neither to you nor to your bother-- it belongs to ME!"

Secondly: When a doctor sits by the bedside of his patient and tells him:
"Take this pill and it will save you!"
God laughs and says:
"O Doctor! How are you going to save him, when I am not going to spare even you!"

"WHERE INDEED IS THE DARKNESS WHEN THE SUN HAS COME OUT
THERE IS GAIETY EVERYWHERE, AND YOUTH HAS COME INTO ITS OWN!"
This is the Voice of the Human Soul when it has attained Heaven and looks upon Divine Glory. It appears as if the world was a dream and this is Real Life.

THIS IS HOW HE LEFT

HH Shri Nathji ( left) & Ramesh Kapahi (right)
THIS IS HOW HE LEFT
Today is a sad day for me, when one of my greatest friends and one of the greatest devotees of my father, HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) left for his Heavenly Abode of Nath in the Heavens.
His name is Ramesh Kapahi, the youngest of the four Kapahi brothers, living in New Delhi. He had braved death in many severe illnesses and bounced back into life again through his Faith in HH Shri Bhola Nathji, who he always regarded as the only God he ever knew.
While alive his Faith in HH Shri Nathji was so strong that not even the gravest of crises or severest of illnesses could shake it.
He lived, smiling, passing through all phases of life with the name of "Nathji" on his lips, and when he left the world it was with that same smile, and with the name of Nathji on his lips, knowing that it was Shri Nathji who had come to take him to his abode and it was not death.
His Father, Shri Charan Dasji, who also lived and died with the name of HH Shri Nathji on his lips would frequently sing this hymn he had composed on HH Shri Nathji, and it was while singing that hymn that he left the physical world and attained salvation in his Master's Abode:
"Come aboard all who will,
Our Nathji has built a ship to take you across!"
Yes, this ocean of Life and Death is such that human beings need a Pilot who can take them across. So that while they live, they can live peacefully on the strength of their Faith, and when they leave, they can do so with equal equanimity on the strength of their Faith.
It is matter of great consolation that all the devotees of HH Shri Bhola Nathji who lived and left the world, did so with the same peace and love which was placed in their hearts by their beloved Master and their God, HH Shri Nathji. And it is a matter of certainty that they are now together with their God, in the heaven in which he resides.
And this is their song:
"Let my last breath be spent at Thy Feet, O Lord,
This is my only desire my only wish in life!"
What a wonderful thing it is to die with the name and remembrance of God on your lips. Death is no longer Death, but rather the Lord Himself, who comes to take you in his arms to his Heavenly Abode.

DISILLUSIONMENT WITH MANKIND

There come times in the lives of the Great Prophets and Saviours of mankind when they become disillusioned with mankind, when they see the wayward ways of the people of the world, who do not follow their simple commandments of love. Of Course this is a temporary phase, but how true!

The Great Saviours of the world came to enlighten humanity and to bring them to Love, but sadly their followers began to quarrel with each other, and there were wars, hatred and destruction, all of which went contrary to the teachings of these Great Saviours of mankind.

My Grandfather, HH Shri Babaji, (1867-1940) who was a millionaire who had given away all his wealth to the poor and had taken to the spiritual path, gave peace and beatitude to countless souls, and relieved them of their ills and sorrows, and was regarded as a Great Prophet of his times, had at one time become disillusioned with the people of the world.

YOU ARE NEVER ALONE

"Never, for an instant, let your heart be filled with the thought that you are alone in this world.

Around you there is the creation of God, that is filled with the strength of God. It is He, who has made this wonderful House for you, even before your coming – the House that has for its roof the star-studded sky at night and is filled with the golden rays of the Sun at day; in which the winds do fan you and the rivers do sing for you in a never ending refrain, where the ocean heaves its mighty bosom at the sight of you and the birds and the leaves and the flowers do all exist – all for you.

All these things, and more, has the Lord made for you. And when you see them and are pleased and do laugh, He is pleased.

He takes your laughter for a token of gratitude, and gives you more."

THE SECOND DAY OF NEW YEAR

by HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) Great Spiritual Luminary of his time who gave peace and beatitude to countless souls relieving them of their ills and sorrows.

2nd January

This is the second day of this month. “One” adds itself to “one” to form “two”. The leaves, the thorns, the flowers, all spring forth from the same seed.

Every atom in the Universe seems to say, “I exist,” and this, too, is the voice of the Universe itself.

All diversity in the world is only apparent. If we look into the core of things we find Unity everywhere.

All are different manifestations of some one form.
The millions of drops of water that go to form the ocean regard one another not as separate entities, but as parts of that same form – the ocean.

In this thought all the differences of the world can cease to exist; every creature can look upon the existence of another as his own. Thus, alone, can there be love and peace.
