WE ARE GUESTS HERE FOR TWO DAYS ONLY

Yes, indeed, one day is meant for our coming into this world and another day for our leaving the world.

This Hindi Film Song of 1952 says a lot about life in this world.

The fact that hearts no longer meet and love no longer exists and there
is just the material world before us-- which ends abruptly in death
one day.

Some of these
lyricists who wrote film songs were not spiritual men by any means, but
what they wrote had a greater depth of meaning than many a spiritual
bhajan or hymn.

I recollect that this was a song that was
especially enjoyed by my father HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) who was
a Great Spiritual Luminary of his time, and I recall that the song
prompted him to say:

"Wah! Wonderful!" when he first heard it during those days.

He would frequently say:

"They say my verse is sad,
It is quite natural,
As it contains the infinity of sorrow,
Not mine, but man's!"


The song brings the pathos of life in a few verses which is difficult
to express even in so many words. I sang it in 2012 and uploaded it at
the time.

WILL PEOPLE NEVER LEARN?
The going away from this world of even one person in this world, proves to us the fact that each one of us must go.
What we call History is in fact the names of the millions and billions who came into this world and went away.

So why do we think we are the only ones who are immortal and eternal and will never leave the world?
Why do we never believe that our stay upon this planet earth is only temporary?
That every second of the clock that ticks away draws us a second closer to Death?
What is Life? That which must go.
And what is Death? That which must come.
And yet there is this rat race for material success, more and more wealth, more and more of status, more and more of everything. And with what purpose? Just to leave everything behind?
If you are in a train you never think of possessing the seats and fans of the compartment, because you know you are going to get off. The train means very little to you. The destination is everything.
What a strange journey is this journey of life where people are busying themselves in gathering whatever they can inside the train only to get off or be thrown off the train one day.
If people would only truly and really come to understand that this life is a TEMPORARY SOJOURN, their entire attitude towards living would change.
They would realize that the world of matter around them is something they will have to leave behind-- but what have they earned for the world to come?
Has the brain of man become so dehumanized that it can think only in terms of material success?
What has become of the values of Love, Compassion, Helpfulness, Humility, Kindness, Goodness, Righteousness, Forgiveness?
Do we really Believe in God and His Kingdom to come, or is all belief and worship for our own convenience?
Whenever we are in need or in trouble we call out to Him and whenever life is going smoothly we forget Him. Indeed this is the state of many believers in the world.
And then people complain that He does not answer prayers. Let them ask themselves: "Should He?"
We forget that time is flying past rapidly and the end may come at any time, any moment.
In the words of the Poet, Omar Khayyam:
"Time flies, one thing is certain,
And the rest is lies,
The flower that once didst bloom,
Forever dies"

THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES

Today, my dearest friend and devotee of my father, HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) , Shri Ajay Kapahi, left for his heavenly abode while peacefully asleep in his bed.
It is the kind of death which many crave for, peaceful, painless and without any disease. It is the kind of death which not even many holy men are able to achieve.
I am convinced he left for the abode of His Divine Master, HH Shri Bhola Nathji, where he is in a state of great bliss and happiness that could not be had in this world of the living.
His life was a miracle in itself. Four times Death came to take him away and each time he felt the hand of HH Shri Bhola Nathji come and save him.
1. There was a time when he was in the city of Kota in Rajasthan taking a bath in a river. Suddenly he slipped and found his foot caught under a heavy rock. The waters were going above his head and he was drowning. He called out loudly:
"HEY! BHOLA NATHJI SAVE ME!"
And a miracle occurred. His foot came out from the rock and he found himself on the shore.
2. The second time was when he was in a terrible car accident in which his companion was killed. He went into a coma and the doctors feared he may not recover.
I went to visit him in the hospital and called out to him. And for the first time in days, his hand moved downwards to touch my feet! Very soon he was out of danger and out of the hospital.
3. The third time was when his car skidded at high speed and hit against the iron railings by the side of the road and then turned over, completely smashed. He found himself without a scratch.
4. The fourth time was when he was down with a massive heart attack and was in the Intensive Care Unit of Medanta Hospital, on a ventilator for several days and the doctors thought he was going to die.
A photo of HH Shri Bhola Nathji was brought to his bed and kept under his pillow. Soon thereafter he recovered completely and was later sent home.
He would always say: 'THERE IS NO MAN MORE FORTUNATE THAN I AM, WHO HAS BEEN SAVED SO MANY TIMES BY MY DIVINE MASTER, BHOLA NATHJI! I AM CONVINCED THAT WHEN HH SHRI BHOLA NATHJI LEFT THE WORLD HE SACRIFICED HIS OWN LIFE TO SAVE MINE!"
But the end of every life is inevitable.Everyone who is born into this world must leave the world one day.
And in the early hours of December 21, 2016, this morning, he simply left for his heavenly abode in great peace to be with his Master forever.

He was only 51 when he left this world. Truly has it been said:
"Those whom the Lord loves, die young!"
Every time a true and righteous soul leaves the world it is not only a great loss to his family and loved ones, but also a great loss to the world where yet another star has gone from the sky, leaving the world in greater darkness...
In the words of HH Shri Bhola Nathji:
"THY LOVERS ARE LEAVING THE WORLD, ONE BY ONE,
O DIVINE SAKI! BRING FORTH THY NECTAR OF ETERNAL LIFE,
WHICH SHALL BRING THEM BACK TO LIFE AGAIN."

WHY DOESN'T GOD PUNISH?

This is a question which has been raised in the mind of many a person and it is also a question which has created many atheists in the world.
When people see so many things going wrong in the world and they see no Divine Retribution, or the Wrath of God, or the Punishment of God fall upon the wrong-doers, they turn to atheism.
Yet there are the ones who are deeply religious and believe in Hell as the place where the wrong-doers go to, albeit after death, by which time they may have done many more wrongs.
And yet others who believe in the Law of Karma which simply states:
"You shall reap what you sow."
This means if you have disobeyed the laws of God you are born again in a sub-human species, and may also suffer a stint in hell.
Or else you may be hit by the Law of Karma in this birth itself, and find every rise turn into a fall, in fact everything going wrong in life, including dreadful diseases that make your life miserable.
HOWEVER THE FACT IS THAT IF GOD WERE TO PUNISH THE WRONG-DOERS IMMEDIATELY, HE WOULD BE REVEALING HIMSELF TO THEM!!
AND THAT IS TOO GREAT A REWARD TO BE GIVEN TO THEM!
A person who KNOWS that he has been punished by God for his wrong action, immediately, feels the presence of God in the punishment meted out to him, and thus becomes a firm believer in God!
And belief in God is a Gift of God rarely given even to believers!
THE STONE AND THE HEIGHT
Another way of looking at this question is to see a stone hurled in the sky, The greater the force with which you hurl the stone the higher up it will rise and the longer the time that it will take to come back. But the greater the height to which the stone rises, the greater the impact with which it falls and the greater the punishment that it metes out to the person who hurled it upwards.
"Ha!" says the person committing wrongs,"I have been committing sins and nothing has happened to me. There is no God!"
But the greater the enormity of the sin that a person commits, the greater the amount of time that it takes to get back to him, but when it does, it hits him with an impact which is shattering.
Or you may think of a person rising higher and higher in life committing greater and greater wrongs. Is the devil rewarding him for going against God?
It is like a man climbing a mountain. The higher up that he climbs the greater does he think he has become -- but then, one day, he slips and falls, and the greater height that he falls from, the greater the hurt!
And the Devil who was goading him on, claps his hand with glee, and says:
"Ha ha! You thought you were rising higher and higher in life, but I made you commit the sins so that I could see you fall!
Remember the devil is no one's friend!"
The Law of Cause an Effect, Action and Reaction, in Physics, says much the same thing.
You shall reap what you sow they say,
And every cause must bring its sure effect,
Good--good, and bad -- bad,
And no one escapes the Law!
Be not ignorant of the laws of karma!
If thou sow flowers thou shall reap flowers,
And if thou sow thorns thou shall reap thorns in return.
BUT STILL, GOD IN ALL HIS MERCY, HAS LEFT A WAY OUT FOR THE SINNER. IF HE REPENTS GENUINELY AND SINCERELY FOR HIS SINS, THEN HIS TEARS WIPE OUT HIS SINS AND HE IS FORGIVEN BY GOD.

We have come into this world and it is for us to ask ourselves these questions and try to answer them:
Q: Why have we come into this world?
A: We dont know.
Q: For how long are we going to stay here?
A: We dont know.
Q: Where will we go after death?
A: We dont know.
A Short answer would be:
"We have come into this world only to go away!"
If we saw a train before us and we were to ask the train conductor:
Q: Where does this train go?
A: I dont know.
Q: For how long will the journey last?
A: I dont know.
Q: Where is the train going?
A: I dont know.
Would you board such a train even if it were offered free of charge?
Are these not vital questions for which we must seek an answer before it is too late?
Time is flying past. Childhood is changing into youth, and youth into middle age and middle age into old age -- and there is Death staring at us with its mouth open.
All our time and energy is consumed in worldly pursuits which we must all leave at the time of Death, and by the time these questions come to our mind it is too late to find an answer.
Sadly, few parents teach their children of the importance of these questions and finding answers to them. On the contrary the parents are so engrossed in the materialistic rat race of the world that they unwittingly push their own children into this rat race.
Achievement, Success, status are all that matter, and are the only goals in life that the children see before them, and which they will teach to the children that come after them.
From time to time, saints, sages, holy men,prophets, avatars, messiahs, have come into this world and have tried to tell us that this world is a temporary place of stay, a place where we must find God and Love and Peace, and an entry into Heaven.
But have their voices been heeded? Or are we still going to be in the rat race till the time it is snatched away from us by the cruel hands of Death?
How sad, indeed, if we must leave behind everything we have earned on this earth and leave this world with empty hands and no earnings for the world to come!
