"TO FORGET GOD"

By HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) A Great Spiritual Luminary of his time, who called himself "Ghulam Rue Zameen" i.e. "The Servant of the Earth.

Here is one of his important pronouncements:

"TO FORGET GOD IS AN OPEN INVITATION TO THE SORROWS OF THE WORLD."

A devotee of God who had forgotten God in the lure of the pleasures of the materialistic world, soon found every joy turning into sorrow, every success turning into failure, every happiness converting itself into misery, and he relented, and this was his voice:

"I had wished that I never forget Thee for even a moment,
Alas! My forgetting Thee is now my sorrow of every moment!"

The "sorrow" here refers not only to the sufferings that the world brings but it also refers to the sorrow of the soul, which has lost its precious moments of life in pursuing material objects, all of which disappear with death, whereas God is the only Reality.
