WHY SWINE FLU IS SPREADING IN INDIA

Over 11,000 people have got the swine flu in India thus far and about 700 have died from it as of February 20, 2015.
I had already written a post earlier in which I had stated "Where have we failed?" and in that post I had spoken about the materialistic aspirations of the parents who failed to teach moral and ethical values to their children and made materialists out of them, leading to the present situation in our society, of violence, intolerance, selfishness, greed for money, mercilessness, corruption, and rape and molestation.
Now, on a more mundane note, I wish to point out another failing related to health.
Hardly any parents tell their children to not to cough into the faces of others.
In fact the parents do so themselves.
Coughing into someone's face is quite common in most households and in the public as well -- since no one ever told them that they could kill a person by coughing on his face.
When you cough, millions of germs go out of your mouth faster than the speed of modern jet planes. These germs may be of bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis and now, swine flu.
If you hit a man on his head with a stone you will injure him and the injury will last for a few days. But if you cough into the face of a man you may even kill him, cause him to die a slow death even as he contracts your cough and his immune system may not be able to cope with it.
No one bothers to take out a handkerchief from his pocket and cough into the handkerchief.
At most they will roll their hand into a fist and then cough into it -- and later shake hands with other people with the same hand they contaminated with their own cough germs.
It is also a common thing for people to take offence if you ask them to sit at a distance from you when they are coughing. They will also take offence if you move away from them, or cover your own mouth with a cloth whenever they cough.
Also when someone with a cough or cold visits you and fills you and your house with his germs, you don't feel anything for about three to four days-- and think that nothing has happened. But you are wrong. The germs he implanted into you take time to grow inside your body -- time known as the "incubation period" which may even be a week or so. After which you are on a downhill course.
It is very common for friends and relatives to visit their friends and relatives and cough right into their homes and into their faces, and thus give them all some dreadful infection.
There was a bachelor living peacefully in the hills in his home. A friend with a cough and cold visited him and spent some time with him. And of course the friend coughed and sneezed into his friend's face. Later after the friend had gone, the bachelor who lived alone, developed a terrible lung disease and died from it because medical aid was not available in the hills. "Thanks for the visit, Dear Friend" may have been written on his tombstone.
MORAL: IF YOU HAVE A COUGH OR COLD, PLEASE DO NOT COUGH INTO ANOTHER PERSON'S FACE.
