LIFE IS A DREAM
1. This life consists of three parts -- the past, the present and the future.
2. The past has gone and cannot come back. It is like a dream.
3. The Future has not come. It is a dream.
4. And what is the Present? The present is the future coming before us swiftly to turn into the past. The present is a combination of the future and the past.
5. If A = a dream, and B = a dream. Then a combination of the two A+B = a dream as well!
If A=0 and B=0, then A+B = 0
6. What is the Present? It is the moment in which we say we exist. It is life.
7. Look at the second hand of a clock. see how swiftly it moves, 60 seconds in one minute.
8. Just say: "I exist in this second of time!" and by the time you finish saying it, the second of time is gone.
9. If you divide the second into micro-seconds, into a million parts, then you cannot even say in which micro second you exist. It is gone even before you can pin-point it.
10. So, we do not exist in the future and we do not exist in the past. We say we exist in the Present, but it is a moment of time which goes no sooner than it comes. So in which moment of time do we exist? That fleeting moment of the present which becomes a dream the moment it comes before us.And which we cannot even pin-point.
11. When we go to sleep, everything in the dream world appears real. If a tiger comes after you, you run, you never say :
"Oh, this tiger is simply a tiger of my dream, it does not exist at all!"
Rather you just scream and run.
12. When you are in the dream world you are not even aware of the fact that you are really asleep in bed. You forget the world of the wakeful state altogether
13. But when you wake up, you may even remember the dream world!
14. So in that sense the dream world appears to be more real than the world of the wakeful state.
15. When do you understand that you are in a dream world? Only when you wake up and the dream world vanishes.
16. This life may be a dream world, and we only come to know that it was a dream when it ends abruptly with death.
17. We might say that Death is an Awakening from the Dreams of Life.
18. And that Awakening can be into a beautiful world where He who sent you into this world of dreams will be there to welcome you into His Real World.
19. So if this world is a dream so are its joys and sorrows, and we should not be too affected by them for they have come to go with the dream.
20. Rather we must try to please Him who sent us into this world, by obeying all His covenants of love, righteousness and faith and service to humanity.
