THOSE WHO LIVE FOR OTHERS

Even when my Sister Sylvia was very critically ill and on her death-bed, she found time to write to me and advise me on getting my spectacles changed, rather than speak of her own illness.
Most people live in the world for their own sake and for the sake of their own families and friends. And this is but a natural human tendency.
But there are certain special souls in this world who live only for the sake of others-- whether these be their family or friends or total strangers or the people of the world.
These special souls are sent by God upon the planet earth, and are known as angels.
They are like the candle that burns the night long showing light to weary travelers stumbling in the dark.
What is the life of a candle to itself?
Its life is the Fire in which it burns, while giving out light to others.
People who are associated with such beautiful souls and who recognize the goodness in them, must hold these beautiful candles in the palms of their hands and protect them from the storms of the world that come to extinguish them.
Their lives are a fulfillment in themselves. It is they who have walked on the true path of spirituality, unconsciously, without even being aware of it.
It is in their Nature to be good to everyone. They do not have to learn this from anyone. Just like a fish does not have to learn how to swim from anyone.
Most parents teach their children to earn good grades, get good jobs, get married, purchase houses and cars, and produce children, and that is the only aim of their life.
No parents ever give their children the example of a candle which exists to give light to others.
Sadly in the world of today, fewer and fewer such souls are being born, and once they finish their work in the world they are quickly taken back by God to live with Him till eternity.
"Those whom the Gods love, die young."
The rest are left in the world to reap the reward of a life meant purely for themselves, and God plays a very small role in their lives, and is as little interested in them as they were upon His children upon earth.
