HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) was a Great spiritual luminary of his time
who gave peace and beatitude to countless folk, relieving them of their
ills and sorrows. His simple method of imparting eternal truths that
made man's life easy through the use of Parables, was renowned.
Not only were his writings and speeches full of the meaning of life but his irrefutable logic was unique in the field of spiritual teaching, which made intellectuals, as well as the common folk break out into applause and sent them home more enlightened than before.
He would in all humility call himself:
THE SERVANT OF THE EARTH
And it was his voice:
"I HAVE NO MISSION EXCEPT LOVE IN THIS WORLD,
MY MISSION IS LOVE AND MY WORK IS LOVE"

MISERY IN THIS WORLD
This is a question that has puzzled many a rationalist and many spiritual and religious people in the world. Of course all have their own answers to this question and some have no answers at all.
1. For the atheist this is one of the strongest proofs that there is no God in the Universe, and things simply happen according to natural scientific laws.
The atheist cannot reconcile misery with a Benevolent, All-Loving God who is All-Merciful. As a matter of fact misery alone has been one factor which has led to the creation of more atheists and agnostics in the world than anything else.
2. For the believer there are varied beliefs. Some speak of misery as being the outcome of the sinfulness of man, some speak of it as being the outcome of the Laws of Karma, i.e. "you shall reap what you sow".
3. In fact there is no simple explanation. But here are some of the hypotheses put forward by HH Shri Bhola Nathji.
4. If a snake has fallen in your lap, then it is no time to think of its species and genus and where it came from, -- you must make all efforts to throw it away! if there is misery in the world there is no point in thinking of the cause of the the misery, rather you must do your best to remove it or mitigate it to the best of your ability.
If there is misery in the world, then what is your part in it? What have you done to remove it?
5. If there were no darkness, then light would lose all meaning. Similarly if there were no misery or sorrow or suffering in the world, then happiness would lose all meaning. You cannot enjoy happiness unless you have experienced misery and sorrow.
6. It is misery which has led to the advances of science and religion and philosophy and given rise to so many remedies and inventions.
7. It is misery which produces in man the need for salvation, and freedom from sorrow and suffering, and leads man to search for higher truths in life. It is misery which leads man to pray to God and thus brings him closer to God.
8. Also one must not judge the Scheme of God because of misery in the world. Imagine a keyhole on the outside door of a room. You are peeping into the room through this little hole.
There is a person sitting inside with a black mole on his cheek. All you can see from the hole is the black mole. And you conclude that the entire face is the color of charcoal.
9. But when the door is opened you get to see the full scenario, the black mole is on the cheek and the person is fair complexioned and beautiful. In fact the black mole enhances the beauty of the face.
In a like manner misery enhances the joy of happiness in the world.
If thousands of people die in the world in earthquakes and sunamis and wars, then millions are also born every minute.
Also remember that everyone in the world is marked for death. If a person does not die in an earthquake it does not mean that he will never die at all-- perhaps he has been saved the misery of dying from cancer or some dreadful disease in old age, and has gone quickly without knowing what happened to him.
"Those whom the Gods love, die young."
Perhaps he has been taken to a beautiful place in heaven, or been given a new and beautiful birth through re-incarnation.
