MIRACLES EVERY MOMENT

MIRACLES EVERY MOMENT

If we recover miraculously from a dangerous illness we call it a miracle of God. If we are saved from a dreadful accident we call it a miracle of God. We thank God for saving us.

But do we know that he is saving us each and every moment of our lives in more ways than we can have imagined?

Billions of people are walking about all over the world busy in their tasks, rarely t
hinking of the dangers they are in.

Medical science has shown that the human heart beats all one's life without rest. It beats even when you are asleep.

It has four chambers and valves that open and shut into these chambers, and the chambers are "beating" all the time giving that "thud" "thud" sound day in and day out.

Our heart is being run by a self sustaining "battery" or electrical system. Electrical currents are passing in all directions in the heart and making the heart beat continuously night and day. It is a battery that never seems to discharge.

And yet it has a built in danger in the electrical system - which can go haywire at any time at the slightest provocation, the slightest exertion, excitement, anger or panic etc. Sometimes it may just happen without any apparent cause.

And when that happens
the heart starts beating irregularly and fast and dangerously and erratically -- all the chambers of the heart vibrating wildly-- so that the heart just collapses! Stops beating. It has gone into a state of
cardiac arrest. This can happen to anyone at any time.

And yet it does not. There is some power that sustains your existence all the time even without your being aware of it. That power is God. He is around you just like the air which sustains your existence all the time without making its presence felt.

Your body is like a veritable time bomb, which may explode at any time, and yet most of the time you are well and most of the people in the world are well and going about their tasks. The thronging milling crowds that you see on the streets are just billions of hearts beating continuously and none of them getting out of synchronization and collapsing on itself.

He who created such a wonderful creation like the heart also created an invisible power to sustain and protect it -- or else there would be millions of people just dying on the streets every minute of the day from cardiac arrests!

So before we begin to thank him for anything else let us thank him simply for keeping us alive each and every moment of the day and night. Let us thank him for life itself.
