WHO WILL PUNISH YOU

There are many preachers and pandits that go around terrifying people that God will punish you if you dont obey his commandments as laid out in their books.

But is it God that really punishes? Does God curse and fume and go to war with a puny human? Will an Emperor step down from his throne to chase after a lowly beggar in the streets just so that he can slap him?

If you go

inside the President's Office and say say something nasty, will the President of the country chase after you in the building and right into the streets till he has caught you by the collar and kicked you in the behind?

No, we will say, it will be beneath the dignity of these high and mighty folk to leave their thrones and to go and fight with a poor ordinary man on the streets.

How then can we say that the All Mighty, All Powerfuil God, the Emperor of all Emperors, who is considered to be a Loving God will perpetually look down upon earth with a telescope and keep a track of what you are doing - and WHAM! when you do something wrong He will strike you! Maybe with a lightning bolt!

Then again there are 7 billion people on the planet earth and maybe billions and billions more in the yet unseen planets that exist in the Universe.

Has God got nothing better to do but to sit around and watch who is doing what - and then to strike out with a vengeance?

There may be people who believe this happens. But I do not, and this is just my personal belief. I believe that every person should develop enough courage to ask himself these questions. I respect whatever they believe and they are welcome to their beliefs.

Look at the President of a country again. There is a Law in the country which the President rules. We may say it is the "law of the President" that is prevailing in the country. And if anyone violates that law, then the officers of the Law get him, or rather he is grabbed by the "law". There are laws for all crimes, felony, murder, robbery, etc etc -- and each person is convicted by the Law.

In a like manner God Himself has placed on earth His law known as the Law of Karma-- this is a very simple law. You shall reap what you sow.

He has laid out the law in very great detail, putting a punishment for every crime, felony or wrongdoing, and even going a step further and added "wrong thinking". It is the Law of Karma that catches up with everyone, the law of Nemesis.

God has many important things to do - like running and maintaining the Universe for example. If even one law of science goes haywire the Universe may collapse on itself and explode. Imagine the vast Universe with billions of galaxies and stars and planets weighing billions and billions of tons! It must require some fraction of His All Powerful Attention to attend to them.

Compare man on the planet - he is so infinitesimally small that a gigantic Telescope of the Universe may not even see him!!

And there we worry about such a Magnificent All Powerful Creator sitting in the magnificence of His creation just worried about slapping us around for telling lies and transgressing against His Laws.

I would say it is His Law which punishes, which is also known as the Law of Karma.

In fact much before the religions of the world and their Holy Books came into existence - there was God and His creation, and His Laws, written down on the heart of man - known as his CONSCIENCE.

YES THE CONSCIENCE OF MAN CONTAINS LOVE, RIGHTEOUSNESS, JUSTICE, SELFLESSNESS, HELPFULNESS, HUMILITY AND EVERYTHING THAT IS GOOD AND NOBLE IN THE WORLD.

IT ALSO TELLS MAN WHAT IS WRONG AND SINFUL, AND IT ALSO HAS A SILENT VOICE THAT TELLS YOU THAT YOU ARE GOING TO BE PUNISHED BY YOUR OWN WRONG ACTION. CALL IT THE VOICE OF GOD OR THE LAW OF KARMA.

The fact is that we on earth have become so ego-centric that we believe that God exists only for us and our affairs in life and has nothing better to do

However where God may interfere would be with His Mercy and Forgiveness which goes beyond the Law of Karma.
