A MESSAGE ON DUSSHEHRA FROM NATH , GHULAM RUE ZAMEEN, THE SERVANT OF THE EARTH

"DUSSHEHRA - VICTORY OF GOOD OVER EVIL
Dusshehra is a Day that is celebrated all over India as being symbolic of the Victory of Good over Evil.
It was the Day when thousands of years ago, Lord Rama, revered as the Incarnation of God by Hindus all over the world, defeated the mighty Ravana, the King of Evil.
A well-known fact was that though Lord Rama was the Almighty Himself he was also the living symbol of love and kindness and humility and mercy in the world.
Before the start of the War with the Evil King Ravana, he had said:
"If Ravana repents for his sins even now, I shall not take over his kingdom, and not only that, I shall give him my own kingdom as well, and stand as the gatekeeper at his gate!"
Such was the great Merciful Heart of Lord Rama, the Invincible and Almighty. He offered a scope of Mercy to the most awful of sinners in the world if they genuinely and sincerely repented. Their tears of repentance would wash away their sins.
But thousands of years have passed ever since Ravana the King of Evil was destroyed, and yet he lives on in the hearts of men even today -- in the hearts of all those who do evil, whose thoughts and actions are filled with selfishness, hatred and war. Yes, Ravana is still alive in such hearts as the personification of the Devil or Satan himself.
The war between Lord Rama and Ravana is still raging within the heart of every person in the world. Evil and good both exist in the heart of man, and either of the tendencies may dominate the other quite unpredictably.
So the REAL celebration of Dusshehra lies not only in burning a Grass Effigy of Ravana today, but rather in burning all evil tendencies within ourselves so that only Rama may remain, the personification of goodness, peace, love, humility, and mercy.
This will be the greatest homage we can pay to Lord Rama, the Lord of the Universe."
