This Diwali song ( ghazal) was written by HH Shri Bhola Nathji (
1902-1992) two days after Diwali on the 5th of November 1991, in New
Delhi, India.
He was 90 years of age at this time.
It has been put to music and sung by me, (Priya Nath Mehta) his son.
At one point during the music, HH Shri Bhola Nathji became so elated with the Divine Bliss that he was feeling, that he got up from his chair and began dancing.
The Gist of the Lyrics is:
"What a good news has arrived!
"Diwali has come,
What a beautiful Diwali,
Bringing a colour of Lights,
It has come, Diwali,
In the darkness of the night,
Thousands of lights are burning
But the light in all of them is the same!
The lights of the Universe and all the lights everywhere,
Come from the Greatest Source of all Light- the Light of God!"
