THE DAY WOMEN FAST FOR THEIR HUSBAND'S LONG LIVES

Today on the 30th of October 2015, was the day of Karva Chauth-- the Day all devout Hindu wives pray for the long life and welfare of their husbands wherever they may be in the world.
It was the Karva Chauth of 1945.
My Father, HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) a Great Spiritual Luminary of His time who gave peace and beatitude to countless souls relieving them of their ills and sorrows, and who was worshiped and held in high reverence even by Holy Men as the holiest of the holy, was in Agra during those day visiting the city to see the Taj Mahal at Agra, like any other normal tourist.
My mother, who was known as Mahamateshwari Savitri Devi, had undertaken the fast of Karvachauth for her divine husband's long life and welfare.
Their picture of 1939 at the time of their marriage is attached here.
While at Agra, Shri Nathji was standing alone in a narrow lane with his back to a wall.
Suddenly a crazed bull came charging towards him with great ferocity as if bent upon to destroy his existence upon earth.
The bull was running towards him, its head bent and its horns extended towards Shri Nathji.
The devotees and Mateshwari screamed and watched helplessly with great horror as the bull came closer and closer to Shri Nathji.
The bull appeared possessed. It was as if the powers of evil had taken possession of the body of the bull to destroy the human form which had only Love and God within Himself.
The incident would have un-nerved even the bravest of men, but Shri Nathji stood calmly and watched.
The bull had barely come within a few inches of Shri Nathji, when something happened to it.
Stopping, suddenly, the bull slid to the ground in a very docile gesture and lay silently at Shri Nathji’s feet!
It was one of Shri Nathji’s greatest miracles. He had preserved the body he had taken upon earth for the salvation of mankind. He still had a lot of work left in the world. He could not allow the forces of evil to bring his avatar upon earth to an abrupt end.
Mahamateshwari had just then undertaken the fast of Karva Chauth – a fast every devout Hindu wife undertakes for the long life, health and safety of her husband.
Shri Nathji attributed his narrow escape to Mahamateshwari’s fast for his long life and welfare.
