Why is God silent?
Is He angry with us for some faults committed by us?
Does He not care for us any longer?
Is our Faith not strong enough for our prayers to reach Him?
According to HH Shri Bhola Nathji here are the reasons why God is silent to our prayers:
1. When He knows we are asking for the wrong thing, which may appear attractive to us today, but which will become the cause of a long lasting sorrow.
2. When our prayers are not genuine. We are merely praying as lip utterance and have no real Faith in Him.
3. When we would ask for something at our own time and he would wish to give the same thing at another time, more appropriate.
4. When we are asking for something small and he wishes to give us something far bigger than we ever dreamt of.
PARABLE OF THE HOST AND THE GUEST
A Host invited a guest for dinner. And while the Host went inside the kitchen, the guest waited at the dining table. Minutes went by, and then hours. The guest had been invited to eat at 9 pm but it was almost 11 pm..
And so the guest gets up to leave, not wishing to bother the Host.
Just then the Host comes running out of the kitchen and says:
"Please don't go! The dinner is ready and I am bringing it. The delay occurred because if I had given the dinner at 9 pm , it would have had only two dishes, but I was busy preparing ten dishes!"
Therefore when the Lord delays giving us what we want He may be preparing to give us something far better than we had even imagined.
