BURNING IN LOVE DIVINE

January 5
Persian Verse by HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) the Founder of the World Prayer Day for Peace.
Persian:

"Man shamaa jaan gudaazam
Too subah dil kushaayi;
Sozam garat na beenam
Meeram choon rukh numaayi"

English Translation:

"I am like a candle that melts away the existence of my life,
And Thou the dawn that lights up the heart;
I burn till Thou come,
And dissolve into nothingness when thou art here!"

Here is the true extent of a devotee's absorption in God. The highest form of meditation, in which ultimately the seeker and the sought become One. Like a burning candle that dissolves into nothingness when the Sun comes out.

All night long the candle burns and waits for the Sun, and when it is morning, and the Sun is out, the candle is gone, its light disappearing to merge into the light of the Sun.
