" What is the difference between Sorrow and Joy? There is really no great difference between them. They are alike in what they give and take.
Sorrow brings misery to man, but gives joy on leaving. What, then, do you desire? Joy? Joy gives sorrow when it leaves. Do you hate sorrow?
Ah! But it leaves behind joy when it goes.
And thus joy goes even as it came, leaving behind sorrow!
Desire nothing, if you would be free of this vicious circle.
Look upon everything as another act of the Universal Drama being enacted before you.
The dark and threatening scenes have come merely to captivate your interest, and so have the scenes of beauty.
Always keep in your heart the thought of the Supreme Creator, and look upon everything as a work of His Art.
