COLLEGE GIRLS IN DISTRESS

COLLEGE GIRLS IN DISTRESS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the memoirs of HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) a Great Spiritual Luminary of His Time.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SHRI NATHJI HAD OFTEN SAID:
"WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, TRY ME. I SHALL COME,FASTER THAN THE WIND, FASTER THAN THE FLASH OF LIGHTNING!"
The year was 1961 and the place was Allahabad, a city of Northern India.
HH Shri Nathji was living in Darbhanga Castle Colony, near Alfred Park, close to the vicinity of Allahabad University. The Alfred Park had been built by the British and had a quaint old British Library that made one feel as if one was in England.
In Allahabad there was a Sikh family, known as the Chopra family, who had intense faith and devotion in HH Shri Nathji.
All the daughters of the Chopra family were absolutely devoted to HH Shri Nathji, and started their morning prayers with his name before going to school or college.
There came a time when three of the Chopra girls were passing through Alfred Park in the evening. The sun was about to set and darkness was already overshadowing the heavily wooded park.
All of a sudden the girls saw a group of boys come sauntering through the park, laughing and joking, and possibly drunk.
They spotted the girls and began to hoot and sing, and walked towards them with ill intentions.
The girls were terrified. It was dark and there was no one in the park.
The girls who had only one remedy for every trouble in life, prayed to HH Shri Nathji.
"Nathji! Save us!"
And sure enough there was HH Shri Nathji walking before them along with a group of his devotees!
As if he had appeared mysteriously in the dark! He was out on an evening walk and just "happened" to be there.
Upon setting eyes on HH Shri Nathji and the group of devotees with him, the College Boys were terrified, in turn, and simply vanished from the scene.
The Chopra sisters ran forward and touched Shri Nathji's feet saying: "Nathji! You saved us!"
HH Shri Nathji, as was his wont, pretended surprise and asked them what had happened.!
Later he said to them: "It was the power of your Faith that made me come at this hour in the evening!"
