"GIVE GENEROUSLY TO THE POOR TODAY IF YOU WISH TO CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY! THAT IS MY ONLY CELEBRATION.
"THERE ARE BILLIONS OF PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD AND THEREFORE BILLIONS OF BIRTHDAYS ARE CELEBRATED EVERY DAY EVERY MINUTE EVERY HOUR ALL OVER THE WORLD. WHAT A WONDERFUL THING IT WOULD BE IF EVERY PERSON ON HIS BIRTHDAY FED THE POOR, AND THUS BILLIONS OF POOR PEOPLE WOULD RECEIVE FOOD ON EVERYONE'S BIRTHDAY.
"AND PEOPLE WITH BIRTHDAYS WOULD HAVE THE SATISFACTION OF KNOWING THAT, EVEN AS THEY EAT THEIR BIRTHDAY CAKES, THERE WOULD BE NO TEAR-FILLED HUNGRY EYES WATCHING THEM THROUGH THE WINDOWS.

There was a time when Shri Pran Nathji went into a restaurant, taking with him a very poor carpenter, dressed in rags, and carrying a small carpentry bag with him.
While the waiter at the restaurant had no qualms about serving them, the manager, upon seeing the rags of the carpenter, refused to serve the carpenter and asked my brother to tell the carpenter to go out.
At this my brother said with some anger to the manager:
"In that case, I, too, am walking out of your restaurant. If he is a poor man does that mean he is not a fellow human being? The same God who made you, made him and me, so we are all brothers. If you refuse to serve your brother, then I refuse to sit in your restaurant!"
Before HH Shri Pran Nathji walked out of the restaurant, he said to the manager and the waiter:
"You,- the waiter--, ought to have been the manager of this restaurant, and you - the manager - ought to have been the waiter!"
