HH SHRI NATHJI AND THE DAUGHTER OF THE NAWAB OF BALUCHISTAN

HH SHRI NATHJI AND THE DAUGHTER OF THE NAWAB OF BALUCHISTAN
====================================================
From the Memoirs of my father HH Shri Bhola Nathji (1902-1992) a Great Spiritual Luminary of His time.
=====================================================
The year was 1945 and HH Shri Bhola Nathji, also known popularly as HH Shri Nathji, was living in an isolated area of the small town of Mussoorie in the Himalayas of Northern India.
It was his birthday, and there was a small gathering in the lawn of his small rented house. People from all walks of life were sitting together. There were the judges of various high courts, Rajas and Maharajas, the intellectuals, scientists and the very poor illiterate folk.
Amongst the gathering there was the daughter of the Nawab of Baluchistan who was visiting the hill station. She was sitting amongst the gathering with her girl friends.
All were attracted towards the divine personality of HH Shri Nathji which radiated a light not seen on the face of ordinary mortals and whose perfection, innocence and love-filled compassion, showed he was a Being from some other world.
As he began his sermon, there was the sound of the rumbling of clouds. This was the monsoon season when the rains would become a downpour almost in an instant.
Some of the people began looking at the skies and became restive afraid that they would get drenched by the rain, and made as if to leave.
Shri Nathji said:
"Please everyone! Stay! Do not be afraid of the clouds! They are doing the work they were intended to do by God. We are all gathered here to take the name of God. If the clouds are not afraid to do their work, then why should we be afraid to do ours!
"And if you were to make haste and leave, -what if you got wet on your way home?
"At least if you get wet here, it will be while taking the name of God!"
And not a single person got up to leave.
Shri Nathji spoke for two hours. The clouds rumbled and thundered and the lightning flashed-- but the miracle of all miracles was that there was not a single drop of rain!
Later the daughter of the Nawab of Baluchistan went rushing home to her parents and clasped her mother to her bosom, and began to weep inconsolably.
She said in between her tears:
"Abba Jaan! Ammi Jaan! Father! Mother!
Today I met a man of God. The Light of God --Khudaa kaa Noor--radiated powerfully from his divinely beautiful face!
He ordered the clouds and there was no rain!
O you must meet him!"
She was so touched in her heart and soul by the divine scene that she would not stop crying. These were tears that stemmed from a heart touched by the Divine.
Time came when the entire family: the Nawab, his Begum (wife) and daughter met HH Shri Nathji.
The Nawab said to HH Shri Nathji : "Our daughter would not stop crying! We thought she was going to become a Hindu!"
Shri Nathji smiled and said:
"Religion is not something which can be changed. Religion is that which unites man with man and then all of mankind with God. As such there is only one religion in the world."
After HH Shri Nathji had delivered a short sermon to the Nawab and his Begum they found themselves in the same state as their daughter, with tears streaming down their cheeks.
Before parting from HH Shri Nathji, the Nawab said to him:
"Khudaa ne aapko barraa tabahktur de rakhaa hai
"Jahaan aap jasi hasti baith ti hai, vahaan aasmaan bhi zameen ko jhuk-kar choomta hai!"
"God has given you a great divine status!
"Where a Man of God like yourself resides, the skies must bow down from the heavens to kiss the earth!"
