 DEAD MOTHER BROUGHT TO LIFE

The year was 1938 and Shri Nathji was staying at Dehra Dun.

Opposite his house was the house of a retired deputy collector Mr. Chaube, where he lived along with his wife, Mrs. Chaube an old lady, and their five sons.

Shri Nathji used to go for a morning walk past the common road where the old lady, Mrs. Chaube would look upon him and simply marvel at his beautiful personality which radiated divine light. However she could not understand who he was.

Then one day a friend of hers, a Mrs. Gangabai Bhutt from Jabalpur came and stayed with her and asked her: "Have you had the darshan and blessings of Shri Nathji? He is the living form of Narayan himself, God! "

The day came when Mrs. Chaube drew up enough courage to visit Shri Nathji at his house with faith and devotion.

The Divine Vision she had of Shri Nathji was so powerful that she fell unconscious for a while. She felt the actual presence of God in him.

Soon thereafter the entire Chaube family became great devotees of Shri Nathji, visiting him almost daily.

One night there came about a knocking at Shri Nathji's door at 2 am. It was Mr. Chaube. He had tears in his eyes as he said:

"I am sorry to say that my wife Mrs. Chaube has passed away. The doctors have declared her dead. She had Supreme Faith in you. Could you please come and bless her body!"

Shri Nathji ran across the road along with Mr. Chaube. Shri Nathji was about as old as the sons of Mrs. Chaube. He went without his shoes.

To Shri Nathji, Mrs, Chaube was like a mother and he always called her "MATAJI"

Shri Nathji entered their home. The body of Mrs. Chaube had been brought down on the ground and was covered with a white sheet, with only the face uncovered, in preparation for the funeral that day.

Shri Nathji called out loudly to Mrs. Chaube's dead body

" MATAJI1"

There was no reply.

He called out "MATAJI"- "MATAJI" twice again. There was no reply. Shri Nathji lifted his arms and blessed the body of Mrs. Chaube and left.

He was escorted out of the house by Mr. Chaube and had barely reached the gate of the house when one of the sons of Mrs. Chaube came running out, shouting loudly!

"NATHJI! NATHJI! COME INSIDE! MOTHER IS SITTING UP, SHE HAS COME BACK TO LIFE AND IS CALLING OUT YOUR NAME REPEATEDLY!"

Shri Nathji went inside and said like a son to a mother:

"O Mataji! I wont talk to you now. I called you three times and you are answering me only now!"

Mrs. Chaube touched the feet of Shri Nathji and said:

"O NATHJI! I HAD GONE VERY FAR AWAY! IT WAS THE SOUND OF YOUR VOICE CALLING OUT TO ME THAT BROUGHT ME BACK TO MY BODY!!

" O NATHJI! PROMISE ME THAT EVEN AS YOU CAME RUNNING WITH BARE FEET FOR MY SAKE, YOU WILL DO SO FOR ANY DEVOTEE THAT CALLS OUT TO YOU!

" ALSO NATHJI USHER IN THAT GOLDEN ERA OF PEACE AND LOVE WHICH YOU SAID WOULD BE COMING TO THE WORLD!"

Shri Nathji blessed her and returned home.
