 SHRI NATHJI CONVERTS RR KHANNA SCIENTIST

WE have mentioned in our earlier episodes how Shri Nathji stayed at the house of R. R. Khanna (Ram Ratan Khanna) who was the Registrar of the Lucknow University during 1928 and the 1930's.

Besides being a very haughty and proud man he was a hardened atheist and scientist, who had no respect in his heart for Holy Men.

or God.

The year was 1928 and Shri Nathji was at Mussoorie, where his fame was spreading as a Divine Being in whom people saw the light of God.

RR Khanna was in Mussoorie for the summer vacation and a friend of his, Wali Muhammad, asked him to come and meet Shri Nathji,

Khanna refused outright saying: " I have seen him. He is very young and very handsome. But hundreds of elderly saints and sages have not been able to convince me. What can this young man do?"

At last he was persuaded by Wali Muhammad to meet Shri Nathji.

Khanna entered inside Shri Nathji's room and merely removed his felt hat and said: " I am Khanna!". He did not even bother to make a salutation.

Shri Nathji said to him: "Khanna! Today you have been made complete!"

Even as Shri Nathji began speaking to him, tears started rolling down Khanna's eyes and he was filled with an inner light he had not experienced before in his life.

He came out of the room saying to his friend Wali Muhammad:

"You had told me he was a very enlightened soul. But an enlightened soul is one who was not enlightened at one time.

Shri Nathji is EVER ENLIGHTENED. I have no hesitation in declaring that Shri Nathji was all the saints,saviors and messiahs of the past and that he is God Incarnate!"

From that day onwards till the end of his life in 1950 Khanna regarded Shri Nathji as God and spread his message far and wide.

He made Shri Nathji promise that whenever he came to Lucknow he would stay at his house.

After a lifetime of 22 years of devotion when Khanna was on his deathbed, he said to his wife Jaano: "Janno! I have loved no one in my life as much as I have loved Shri Nathji!:

He also said: "Bring the old shirts of Shri Nathji which we kept behind. These are my passport to the next world!

He passed away peacefully reading Shri Nathji's famous book:

Payaame Muhabbat" -"A Message of Love "

Shri Nathji's verse echoed in his heart even as he passed away blissfully:

"Nikal Jaaye dam tere kadmon ke neeche

Yehi dil ki hasrat yeho aarzooo hai"

"May the last breath of my life pass away at Thy Feet,

This is my only bliss the only desire of my heart!"
