THE ROSES OF THE BARRISTER

 THE ROSES OF THE BARRISTER

========================
FROM THE MEMOIRS OF HH SHRI BHOLA NATHJI, THE GREAT SPIRITUAL LUMINARY WHO GAVE PEACE AND BEATITUDE TO COUNTLESS SOULS, RELIEVING THEM OF THEIR ILLS AND SORROWS AND WHO STILL GUIDES US AND HELPS US AND ANSWERS OUR PRAYERS FROM HIS CELESTIAL PLANE .
=====================================
The year was 1928 and HH Shri Bhola Nathji or HH Shri Nathji was in Jullunder a city in the Punjab in Northern India.
A certain Shri Devi Chand, a Civil Judge, had great faith and saw Lord Krishna in Shri Nathji, whose temple he had built on the roof of his house. He invited Shri Nathji to stay with him for a few days, where crowds surged for his darshan and blessings.
Shri Devi Chand had a son, Shri Dwarka Nath who had studied law in England and had a Barrister's degree from there. Unfortunately he was an atheist who had no faith in spiritual personalities.
But the moment he came before Shri Nathji something happened to him. He became absolutely devoted to Shri Nathji. And would come every day for his darshan and blessings.
One day he brought a bouquet of Roses for Shri Nathji and gave them to him as an offering with due respects.
Shri Nathji deliberately became so absorbed in the roses that he forgot all about the Barrister in the room.
The Barrister said: "Maharaj! Did I give the roses as an offering so that you would forget about me altogether! Kindly cast a glance of kindness at me also!
Shri Nathji laughed and said: "Barrister Sahib, if I had ignored your roses and had kept on looking only at you, you would have said, 'Sir, did I give you the roses so that you would ignore them and look only at me?'"
Shri Nathji continued: "i have only one pair of eyes. If I look at you I cannot look at your roses and if I look at your roses I cannot look at you!"
"There is only one solution- I am returning your roses to you, so that you can hold them in your hands. Now I will look upon both of you together with one glance!"
Barrister: " Sir, Kindly explain the spiritual meaning of this example!"
Shri Nathji: " Just like you gave me these roses as a free gift, God gave this world as a free gift to man without his asking.
"There were some who became so engrossed in his world that they forgot him altogether. And God was hurt.
"Then again there came others who ignored the world altogether and began to look upon God alone. God had a complaint against them as well; 'Did I give you such a beautiful world so that you would forget about it and come only towards me?"
Shri Nathji continued:
"But there were some who placed the world in front of God and saw both with one glance! Meaning they gave a place in their hearts to God and lived in his world knowing that they were living in God's world and doing the chores He had given them to do!
"These were the ones who really took the joy of living in the world with God by their side!"
